For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-
50 grams of King Cole Melody DK yarn
5.50mm crochet hook
TENSION – 5dc & 4 rows measures approx 1 inch

Made in multiples of 2.
Make 130ch loosely, working into back bump (see pic) work 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, * miss 1ch, 2dc into next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch, miss 1ch, 1dc into last ch. Turn. (128dc)
2nd Row – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, * miss 1dc, 2dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, 1dc into last dc. Turn.
3rd Row – Rpt 2nd Row once. Turn.
4th Row – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, * miss 1dc, 2dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * 7 more times, make 14ch, miss 15dc, rpt from * to * to end. Turn.
5th Row – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, * miss 1dc, 2dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to 14ch space, work 1dc into each of next 14ch, rpt from * to * to last dc, work 1dc into last dc. Turn.
Rpt 2nd Row until 16 rows have been worked or your work measures approx 4 inches from beginning. Fasten off.
Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn, post opposite end of scarf through the letterbox opening.
