Base of ch. Work into first stitch

Beanie Hat:  17 inch circumference

Scarf:  4 inches wide x 43 inch length (not incl pom-poms)

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

120 grams of Double Knitting Yarn in colour 1
60 grams of Double Knitting Yarn in colour 2

4.50mm & 4.00mm crochet hooks

TENSION – 6tr & 2.5 rows measures approx 1 inch using 4.00mm hook

Scarf – With colour 1 and 4.50mm crochet hook make 15ch, (RS) 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1tr into next ch, * 1dc into next ch, 1tr into next ch, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (14st)

2nd Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1tr into next dc, * 1dc into next tr, 1tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.

Rpt 2nd Row until 160 rows have been worked in all from beginning. Turn.

Border – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each st across, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each row end down first side of scarf, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along starting chain edge, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each row end up second side of scarf, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work one row of dc around all sides of scarf, working 3dc into 3 corners and 1dc into last corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Using colour 2 make 2 pom-pom’s, I used clover pom-pom maker size 45.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn, gather ends, attach pom-pom to each end of scarf.

Bobble Hat – Made in rounds without turning until end of 5th Round

With 4.00mm hook and colour 1, make 6ch, ss to first ch to make a ring. (RS) 3ch, work 12tr into ring, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (12tr + 3ch)

2nd Round – (Inc Round) 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 2tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (25tr + 3ch)

3rd Round – (Inc Round) 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, * 1tr into next tr, 2tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last tr, 1tr into last tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (38tr + 3ch)

4th Round – (Inc Round) 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, * 1tr into each of next 2tr, 2tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last 2tr, 1tr in each of last 2tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (51tr + 3ch)

5th Round – (Inc Round) 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, * 1tr into next 3tr, 2tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last 3tr, 1tr into each of last 3tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (64tr + 3ch) Turn.

6th Round – (Inc Round) 1ch, 2dc into base of 1ch, * 1dc into next 7tr, 2dc into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last 8tr, 1dc into each of next 7tr, miss 1tr, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (72dc)

7th Round – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1tr into next dc, * 1dc into next dc, 1tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc on beginning of round. Turn.

Pattern Round 1 – 3ch, 1dc into next tr, * 1tr into next dc, 1dc into next tr, * rpt * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. Turn.

Pattern Round 2 – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1tr into next dc, * 1dc into next tr, 1tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc on beginning of round. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Rounds 1 & 2 until 21 rounds have been worked in all. Fasten off. Turn.

Join in colour 2, rpt Pattern Rounds 1 & 2 until 27 rounds have been worked in all. Turn.

Brim – With WS facing and working into back loop only for this round, work Pattern Round 1 once. Turn.

Working through both loops from now on, starting with Pattern Round 2, rpt Pattern Rounds 1 & 2 until 8 rounds have been worked in all for brim. Fasten off.

With colour 2 make a pom-pom I used I used clover pom-pom maker size 65

Finishing – Weave in trim off all loose ends of yarn, fold brim onto front of hat, attach pom-pom securely to crown.
