Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-
25 grams of Baby Double Knitting Yarn in Colour 1
25 grams of Baby Double Knitting Yarn in Colour 2
4.00mm crochet hook
To make the beanie for a 3-6 month baby use a 3.50mm hook
TENSION – 5tr and 2 rows of tr’s measures approx 1 Inch

With colour 1, make 6ch, ss to first ch to form a ring, work 3ch, 12tr into ring, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (12tr + 3ch)
2nd Row – (Inc row) 3ch, 2tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (24tr + 3ch)
3rd Row – (Inc row) 3ch, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr in next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (36tr + 3ch)
4th Row – (Inc row) 3ch, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 2tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (48tr + 3ch)
5th Row – (Inc row) 3ch, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 3tr,* rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (60tr + 3ch)
6th Row – (Inc row) 3ch, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 9tr, * rpt from * to * to end, miss 3tch, ss to first tr on beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn. (66tr)
7th Row – Join in colour 2, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end, ss to first dc. Turn. (66dc)
8th Row – 3ch, (WS) 1tr into each of next 2dc, * make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1tr into each of next 5dc,* rpt from * to * to last 3dc, make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1tr into each of next 2dc, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (11, 5tr blocks)
9th Row – 4ch, miss first 2tr, * 6tr into next 2ch space, miss 2tr, fpdtr (see abbrev) around next tr, miss next 2tr, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch space and 2tr, work 6tr into 2ch space, miss 2tr, ss to top of 4ch on beginning of row. Turn. (11, 6tr groups)
10th Row – 4ch, 1tr into each of next 2tr, * make 2ch, miss 2tr, 1tr into each of next 2tr, bpdtr around next dtr, 1tr into each of next 2tr, * rpt from * to * to last 4tr, make 2ch, miss 2tr, 1tr into each of next 2tr, ss to top of 4ch. Turn.

Join in colour 1, rpt 10th & 11th Rows twice. Fasten off.
Make a pom-pom in colour 2, I used clover pom-pom maker size 65.
Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn, attach pom-pom to crown.
