Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-
50 grams of King Cole Baby Glitz yarn in color 1
Small amounts of King Cole Baby Glitz yarn in color 2
An equivalent yarn would be a light worsted #3
5.00mm & 4.00mm Clover Crochet Hooks
GAUGE – 5sc & 6 rows measures approx 1 inch

With 5.00mm hook and color 1, make a magic circle, ch1, work 10sc in circle, pull loose thread to close, sl st to first sc on beginning of round. Turn.
2nd Round – (Inc Round) ch1, 2sc in base of ch1, 2sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of round. Turn. (20sc)
3rd Round – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of round. Turn.
4th Round – (Inc Round) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 2sc in next sc, * 1sc in next sc, 2sc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of round. Turn. (30sc)
5th Round – Rpt 3rd Round.
6th Round – (Inc Round) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in next sc, 2sc in next sc, * 1sc in each of next 2sc, 2sc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of round. Turn. (40sc)
7th Round – Rpt 3rd Round.
8th Round – (Inc Round) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 2sc, 2sc in next sc, * 1sc in each of next 3sc, 2sc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of round. Turn. (50sc)
9th Round – Rpt 3rd Round.
10th Round – (Inc Round) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 3sc, 2sc in next sc, * 1sc in each of next 4sc, 2sc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of round. Turn. (60sc)
11th to 31st Round – Rpt 3rd Round.
Change to 4.00mm hook.
Brim – Working in BLO ch3, 1dc in base of ch3 * skip 1sc, 2dc in next sc, * rpt from * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (30, 2dc groups)
Pattern Round – sl st to space between next 2dc, (ch3, 1dc) in same space, * skip 2dc, work 2dc in space between next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc and ch3, work 2dc in space between last dc and ch3, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of round. Turn.
Fasten off.
Rpt Pattern Round once each in colors 2, 1, 2, followed by Pattern Round twice in color 1. Fasten off.
Optional – Using color 2 make a Pom-Pom, I used
Clover Pom-Pom Maker number 65.
Butterfly Motif – (Optional)

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn on hat, turn the brim onto the front of the hat, attach the pom-pom to the crown and decorate with Crochet Butterfly Motif.
