Free crochet scoodie scarf pattern, this beautiful hooded scarf will keep your head and neck warm through wintery colder days.
Simple and easy to make, I have used a light worsted #3 (double knitting for UK) yarn, the pattern is written for one colour, but you can jazz it up with more if you wish.

How to make a Puff Stitch
PS – * yrh insert into stitch and pull through, * rpt from * to * twice more, yrh pull through 6 loops, yrh and pull though 2 loops.
Base of ch. Work into first stitch
2ch counts as first htr
Approx Finished size:
Complete: 80.5 Inches in length x 5 Inch wide scarf
Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-
250 grams of Stylecraft Special DK yarn
5.00mm crochet hook
TENSION – 4dc and 4 rows of pattern measures approx 1 Inch

UK INSTRUCTIONS:
Make 330ch loosely, work 1dc into 2ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (329dc)
2nd Row – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end. Turn.
3rd Row – 2ch, * 1ps (see abbrev) into next dc, 1htr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (328st + 2ch)
4th to 6th Rows – 1ch, 1dc into each stitch to end. Turn. (329dc)
Rpt 3rd to 6th Rows twice more. Turn.
Work 3rd Row once. Turn.
Starting with 1ch, work 2 rows of 1dc into each stitch to end. Turn. Fasten off.
Hood – Miss 122dc, join yarn to next dc, make 1ch, work 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1dc into each of next 84dc, turn leaving 122dc un-worked. (85dc)
Work 3rd to 6th Rows four more times in same way as before. Turn.
With WS facing, fold hood in half and ss the dc’s together from both sides to make hood. (see pic below) Fasten off.
Scarf & Hood Edging
With WS facing join yarn to right hand side of neck edge on hood (see pic) Work 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1dc into each row end along and over seam on neck edge of hood, 1dc into each dc along scarf edge from hood, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each dc down first side of scarf, 3dc into corner, work 1dc into each ch along starting chain edge, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each row end up second side of scarf, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each dc along scarf edge to hood, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.
Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn.
