Coming home baby blanket, an addition to my baby sweater set, it would make a lovely layette for a baby shower.

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-
360 grams of Stylecraft Special Aran yarn in colour 1
15 grams of Stylecraft Special Aran yarn in colour 2

UK INSTRUCTIONS:
Made in Multiples of 3 + 1.
With colour 1 make 109ch, (RS) work 1tr into 4th ch, 1tr into each ch to end. Turn. (106tr + 3ch)
2nd Row – 3ch, miss 1tr, vst (see abbrev) into next tr, * miss 2tr, vst into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last tr and 3tch, miss 1tr, work 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (35vst)
3rd Row – 3ch, 1tr into each tr and 1ch space to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.
Rpt 2nd & 3rd Rows until 55 rows have been worked in all from beginning. DNT at the end of 55th Row.
Border – Worked without turning until the end of the Third Row, 3ch, 1tr into the stitch at the base of the 3ch, work 2tr into each row end down first side of blanket, 3tr into corner, 1tr into each ch along starting chain edge, 3tr into corner, work 2tr into each row end up second side of blanket, 3tr into corner, 1tr into each tr along top of blanket to end, 1tr into the stitch into the base of the 3tch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row.
Second Row – 3ch, 1tr into the stitch at the base of the 3ch, * frptr around next tr, bptr around next tr, * working 3tr into corners rpt from * to * to end, 1tr into the stitch at the base of the 3tch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row.
Third Row – 3ch, work 1tr into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, working a bptr around bptr and fptr around a fptr (and working 3tr into the corners) to end, 1tr into the stitch at the base of the 3tch, ss to the top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn.
Change to colour 2.
Fourth Row – With WS facing and working (2dc, 1ch, 2dc) into corners, work 1ch, 2dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end, work (2dc, 1ch) into last corner, ss to the first dc on beginning of row.
Finishing – Weave and trim off all loose ends of yarn.
