Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

80 grams of Lion Brand Baby Soft in Colour 1
10 grams of Lion Brand Baby Soft in Colour 2

An equivalent yarn would be Double Knitting.

4.00mm Clover crochet hook, 3 small buttons

TENSION – 5tr and 2.5 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Worked in one piece starting with yoke.

With colour 1 make 49ch, (RS) 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each ch to end (46tr + 3ch). Turn.

2nd Row – (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into next tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 3tr, * rpt from * to * to 3tch, 1tr into top of 3ch, (57tr + 3ch). Turn.

3rd Row – 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

4th Row – (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into next tr * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 2tr * rpt from * to * to last tr and 3tch, 2tr into tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (76tr + 3ch)

5th Row – Rpt Row 3.

6th Row – (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into next tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 2tr * rpt from * to * to last 2tr and 3tch, 2tr into next tr, 1tr into last tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (101tr + 3ch)

Commence Skirt – 3ch, miss first tr, * 3ps (see abbrev) into next tr, miss 2tr, * rpt from * to * to last 2tr and 3ch, miss 2tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (33 ps groups)

First Pattern Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * miss 1ps, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into next ps, miss 1ps, work 1dc into the space between next ps group, * rpt from * to * to end, working last dc into top of 3ch. Turn.

Second Pattern Row – 3ch, work 3ps into each 2ch space to end, 1tr into last dc. Turn.

Divide for Armholes – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * miss 1ps, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into next ps, miss 1ps, work 1dc into the space between next ps group, * rpt from * to * 3 more times, miss 1ps, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into next ps, make 2ch, miss 6 ps groups, (armhole)

(1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into centre ps of next ps group, 1dc into the space between next ps group, rpt from * to * 9 more times, miss 1ps, (1dc, 2ch,1dc) into next ps, make 2ch, miss next 6 ps groups, (armhole)

(1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into centre ps of next ps group, 1dc into the space between next ps group, rpt from * to * to end, working last dc into top of 3ch. Turn. (23, 2ch spaces)

Work 2nd Pattern Row including working into each of the 2ch spaces under the arms. Turn. (23ps groups)

Rpt First & Second Pattern Rows four more times until 7ps rows have been worked from yoke. Fasten off.

Next Row – Join in colour 2, 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * miss 1ps, (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) into next ps, miss 1ps, work 1dc into the space between next ps group, * rpt from * to * to last ps group and 3ch, miss 1ps, (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) into next ps, miss 1ps, work 2dc into top of 3ch. DNT or fasten off at the end of row.

Button/Buttonhole Bands – Work 32dc evenly into row ends up first front to neck edge, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch around neck, 3dc into corner, work 32dc evenly into row ends down second front, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc. Turn.

Buttonhole Band – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 21dc, * make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of next 5dc, * rpt from * to * once, make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into last dc. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each 2ch space and dc to end. Fasten off.

Button Band
Working from neck downwards, join colour 2 to first dc on opposite front edge.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 2 rows of 1dc into each dc turning at the end of the row. Fasten off.

Sleeves x 2 – With WS facing join colour 1 to centre ps of ps group at base of armhole, (see pic) make 1ch, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into same space, work 1dc into the space between next ps group, * miss 1ps, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into next ps, miss 1ps, 1dc into the space between next ps, * rpt from * to * to last ps and centre ps of 3 underarm, miss ps, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into centre ps of 3 underarm, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (8, 2ch spaces)

Join for sleeves wip

Row 2 – 3ch, work 3ps into each 2ch space to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off. (8ps groups)

Row 3 – Join in colour 2, 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * miss 1ps, (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) into next ps, miss 1ps, work 1dc into the space between next ps group, * rpt from * to * to last ps group, miss 1ps, work (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) into next ps, miss 1ps, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Small Bow – With colour 2 make 12ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each of next 4ch, ss into next ch, 1dc into each of remaining 5ch. Turn. (10dc + 1ss)

Next Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each of next 4dc, ss into next ss, 1dc into each of remaining 5dc. Turn.

Rpt last row until 7 rows have been worked in all. Fasten off.

Wrap yarn around center of bow over the ss several times to make the bow, tie at the back to secure.

Finishing – Close small gaps underarm, weave in any loose ends of yarn and trim off, sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes, attach bow.
