Christmas Coasters

Get in the festive mood with these christmas coasters, make a set of 6 and decorate the table for your guests, you could always add a chain loop and hang them on your tree or around your home as well.

Christmas Coasters UK

Pattern Number CNC78

Abbreviations UK
RS.    Right Side

ch.     Chain
dc.     Double Crochet
tr.      Treble Crochet
rpt.    Repeat
ss.      Slip Stitch

tr2tog.   Leaving last loop of each tr on hook, work 2tr into next stitch or space, yrh and pull through all loops.
tr3tog.   Leaving last loop of each tr on hook, work 3tr into next stitch or space, yrh and pull through all loops.

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

2ch counts as first tr

Approx Finished size:  4.25 Inch diameter

Materials
For 6 Coasters I have used:-

10 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in colour 1
20 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in colour 2
10 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in colour 3

4.00mm crochet hook

Made in rounds without turning.

UK INSTRUCTIONS:

With colour 1 make a magic circle, (RS) work 1ch, 12dc into circle, close circle by pulling loose thread, ss to first dc on beginning of row. (12dc)

2nd Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 1ch, 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, make 1ch, ss to first dc on beginning of row. (12, 1ch spaces)

3rd Row – ss to first 1ch space, work (2ch, tr2tog) into same 1ch space, * make 2ch, miss 1dc, tr3tog into next 1ch space, * rpt from * to * to last dc, make 2ch, miss dc, ss to top of 2ch on beginning of row. Fasten off. (12, tr3tog) (see abbrev for tr2tog and tr3tog)

4th Row – Join in colour 2 with a ss to any 2ch space, work (2ch, tr2tog, 1ch, tr3tog) into same 2ch space, * make 1ch, miss tr3tog, (tr3tog, 1ch, tr3tog) into next 2ch space, rpt from * to * to last tr3tog, make 1ch, miss tr3tog, ss to top of 2ch on beginning of row. Fasten off. (24, tr3tog)

5th Row – Join in colour 3 with a ss to any 1ch space, work 1ch, (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) into same space, * miss tr3tog, (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) into next 1ch space, * rpt from * to * to last tr3tog, miss tr3tog, ss to first dc. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in all loose ends of yarn and trim off.

5th Row – Join in color 3 with a sl st to any ch1 space, ch1, (1sc, ch3, 1sc) in same space, * skip dc3tog, (1sc, ch3, 1sc) in next ch1 space, * rpt from * to * to last dc3tog, skip dc3tog, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in all loose ends of yarn and trim off.
