Group.   (1sc, 2dc) into same space or stitch

Base of ch. Work in first stitch

Finished size approx:  11 Inches x 11 Inches

Materials
I have used:-
50 grams Patons 100% DK Cotton in color 1
40 grams Patons 100% DK Cotton in color 2

OR an equivalent yarn i.e
1.75oz of Worsted Weight #3 100% cotton in color 1
1.45oz of Worsted Weight #3 100% cotton in color 2

4.50mm Clover crochet hook

GAUGE – 2 pattern rpt’s & 3 rows measures approx 1 inch

With color 1 ch38 loosely, work (1sc, 2dc) in 2nd ch from hook, * skip 2ch, (1sc, 2dc) in next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 3ch, skip 2ch, 1sc in last ch. Turn. (12 Groups)

Pattern Row – ch1, (1sc, 2dc) in base of ch1, * skip 2dc, (1sc, 2dc) in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc and sc, skip 2dc, 1sc in last sc. Turn.

Fasten off.

Rpt Pattern Row in color sequence as follows:-

4 rows in color 2

# 4 rows in color 1
4 rows in color 2 #

Rpt Pattern Row in color sequence from # to # twice or until 30 rows have been worked in all. Fasten off. Turn.

Join in color 1 and rpt Pattern Row twice. Turn. (You should have 32 rows worked in all).

Edging – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 35st, 3sc in last sc, work 35sc evenly in row ends down first side of cloth to the corner, 3sc in corner, 35sc evenly along cast on edge to corner, 3sc in corner, work 35sc evenly in row ends up second side of cloth to corner, 1sc in corner, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.

Next Row – ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 1dc in each sc around all four sides of cloth to end, working 3dc in each of the remaining corners as you go, 1dc in base of ch3 on beginning of row, sl st to top of the same ch3. Fasten off. Turn.

With color 2 and starting with ch1, work 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc around all four sides of cloth to end, working 3sc in corners, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of thread.
