Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-
100 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK yarn
An equivalent yarn would be a light worsted #3 cotton
GAUGE – 1.5 groups & 2.5 rows measures approx 1 inch

Increase Rows – ch6, work 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each of next ch2. Turn.
2nd Row – ch6, 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each of next ch2, * skip 3dc, work (1sc, ch3, 3dc) in ch3 space. Turn. (2 groups)
3rd Row – ch6, 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each of next ch2, skip 3dc, work (1sc, ch3, 3dc) in next ch3 space, skip 3dc, (1sc, ch3, 3dc) in last ch3 space. Turn. (3 groups)
4th to 17th Row – (Inc) ch6, 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each of next ch2, * skip 3dc, work (1sc, ch3, 3dc) in next ch3 space, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc and 3tch, skip 3dc, (1sc, ch3, 3dc) in last ch3 space. Turn. (17 groups)
18th Row – (Dec Row) sl st to first ch3 space, work (1sc, ch3, 3dc) in same space, * skip 3dc, (1sc, ch3, 3dc) in next ch3 space, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc and 3tch, 1sc in last ch3 space. Turn. (16 groups)
Each row will decrease by 1 group, rpt 18th Row until you have 1 group remaining.
Fasten off.
The pictures are showing that I have used a different color combination for each sample. One shows a color change on every row and the other a color change every 2 rows. You can of course make it in the color combination of your choice.
Border – Join yarn to any corner, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * work 41sc evenly along, 3sc in corner, * rpt from * to * (three times), work 41sc evenly along, work 1sc in corner, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.
Second Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, working 3sc in the corners, work 1 row of 1sc in each sc to end, 1sc in last corner, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.
Bobble Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * dc4tog (see abbrev) in next sc, 1sc in next sc, * rpt from * to * around all four sides of cloth, working 3sc in corners.
Fasten off.
Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn.
