Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-
250 grams of Yarnsmiths Merino DK yarn in colour 1
450 grams of Yarnsmiths Merino DK yarn in colour 2
150 grams of Yarnsmiths Merino DK yarn in colour 3
6.00mm hook

UK INSTRUCTIONS:
Made in multiples of 2.
With colour 1 make 98ch, 1htr into 2nd ch from hook, * make 1ch, miss 1ch, work 1htr into next ch, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.
2nd Row – 1ch, 1htr into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, make 1ch, * yrh, pull up a loop in the 1ch space, (3 loops on hook) yrh, pull up a loop in the missed from the beginning chain, (5 loops on hook) yrh, pull up a loop in the next 1ch space. (7 loops on hook) yrh, pull through all 7 loops, make 1ch, * rpt from * to * to last 1ch space and htr, miss 1ch, work 1htr into the htr. Turn. (47 feathers)
3rd Row – 1ch, 1htr into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, make 1ch, * yrh, pull up a loop in the 1ch space, yrh, pull up a loop through the 1ch space on the row below, yrh, pull up a loop in the next 1ch space, yrh, pull through all 7 loops, make 1ch, * rpt from * to * to last 1ch space and htr, miss 1ch, work 1htr into the htr. Turn.
Rpt 3rd Row in colour sequence as follows:
Eight rows in colour 1.
# Eighteen rows in colour 2, ten rows in colour 3, ten rows in colour 1. #
Rpt # to # once. Turn.
Border – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1dc into each feather and 1ch space to end, 3dc into corner, work 1dc into each row end down first side of blanket, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each along starting chain edge, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each row end up second side of blanket, work 1dc into corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.
Working 3dc into the corners, slip stitching and turning at the end of each row, make 1ch, 1dc into the base of the 1ch, work 4 more rows in dc. Fasten off.
Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn.
