Crochet V-Stitch Chains Tutorial – I have added another beautiful tutorial to my crochet stitches collection.

This one can be used for table mats, coasters, baby blankets, shawls and many other projects.

Some crochet stitches may challenge you or even puzzle you, but tackling them and mastering them will be very satisfying when you use it to create something special.

I have used King Cole Comfort DK (light worsted #3 for USA) yarn and a 4.50mm hook for the samples, but it looks good in most different ply’s.

ch.      Chain
dc.      Double Crochet
tr.       Treble Crochet
rpt.     Repeat

UK INSTRUCTIONS:

Made in multiples of 10 + 7.

I started with a chain length of 37, (RS) 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each ch to end. Turn.

2nd Row – 3ch, 1tr into each of next 4tr, * make 7ch, miss 5tr, 1tr into each of next 5tr, * rpt from * to * to end, working last tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

3rd Row – 3ch, 1tr into each of next 4tr, * make 5ch, working in front of the 7ch, work 1dc into the centre tr of the missed 5tr on row below (see pic) make 5ch, 1tr into each of next 5tr, * rpt from * to * to end, working last tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

4th Row – 3ch, 1tr into each of next 4tr, * make 7ch, 1tr into each of next 5tr, * rpt from * to * to end, working last tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

5th Row – 3ch, 1tr into each of next 4tr, * make 5ch, working in front of 7ch on last row, work 1dc around the 7ch on three rows below, make 5ch, 1tr into each of next 5tr, * rpt from * to * to end, working last tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

Rpt 4th & 5th Rows until required length, changing colour on every row.
