RS. Right Side

For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn in the pattern materials section.
I have used Caron Simply Soft yarn in off white, berry blue and autumn maize for the free easy beginners crochet doily pattern, this brand has a lovely selection of colours.
Crochet Hook Size
I have used a 6.00mm crochet hook size for the samples of the easy beginners crochet doily pattern, but check the ball band of the yarn that you are using for the correct hook size for that ply.

tr2tog. Leaving last loop on hook, work 2tr into same space or stitch, yrh and pull through all loops.
tr3tog. Leaving last loop on hook, work 3tr into same space or stitch, yrh and pull through all loops.
Shell Group. (2tr, 2ch, 2tr) into same stitch or space.
Base of ch. Work into first stitch
3ch counts as first tr
4ch counts as first tr + 1ch
Size approx: 8.5 Diameter

UK INSTRUCTIONS:
Made in rounds without turning throughout.
With colour 1 make 8ch, ss to first ch to form a ring, make 3ch, work 19tr into ring, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (19tr+ 3ch)
2nd Row – 4ch, work 1tr into next tr, * 1ch, 1tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, make 1ch, ss to 3rd of 4ch on beginning of row.
Fasten off. Join colour 2 to first 1ch space.
3rd Row – 3ch, tr2tog (see abbrev) into next 1ch space, * make 2ch, work tr3tog (see abbrev) into next 1ch space, * rpt from * to * to end, make 2ch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (20 tr3tog)
4th Row – ss into tr2tog, make 3ch, * work 3tr into next 2ch space, 1tr into tr3tog, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch space, work 3tr into space, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (79tr + 3ch)
Fasten off. Join colour 3 to top of 3ch.
5th Row – 3ch, (1tr, 2ch 2tr) into the stitch at the base of the 3ch, * miss 3tr, (2tr, 2ch, 2tr) into next tr, * rpt from * to * last 3tr, miss 3tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (20 shell groups)
6th Row – 1ch, 1dc into space at the base of the 1ch, * work (1htr, 5tr, 1htr) into next 2ch space on shell group, 1dc into space between next shell group, * rpt from * to * to last shell group, work (1htr, 5tr, 1htr) into 2ch space on shell group, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.
Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends.
