Base of ch. Work into first stitch

3ch counts as first tr

Approx Finished Size:   10 x 11.5 Inches

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

60 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK in colour 1
Small amount of King Cole Cottonsoft DK in colour 2

4.50mm crochet hook

TENSION – 1.5 groups & 2 rows measures approx 1 inch

UK INSTRUCTIONS:

Made in multiples of 3 + 1.

With colour 1 make 40ch loosely, work 1tr into 4th ch from hook, * miss 2ch, 3tr into next ch, * rpr from * to * to last 3ch, miss 2ch, work 2tr into last ch. Turn. (11, 3tr groups + 2, 2tr groups)

2nd Row – 3ch, miss 1tr, work 3tr into space between 2tr and next 3tr, * miss 3tr, work 3tr into space between next two 3tr groups, * rpt from * to * to last tr and 3tch, miss tr, work 1tr into top of 3ch.

3rd Row – 3ch, work 1tr into stitch at base of 3ch, join in colour 2, carrying the colours across the back of your row, * miss 3tr, with colour 2 work 3tr into space between next two 3tr groups, miss 3tr, with colour 1 work 3tr into space between next two groups, * rpt from * to * to last space, 3tr and 3tch, with colour 2 work 3tr into last space, with colour 1 miss 3tr, work 2tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

4th Row – With colour 2 rpt 2nd Row. Turn.

5th Row – Using both colours rpt 3rd Row. Turn.

6th to 18th Rows – Using colour 1 only, rpt 2nd & 3rd Rows. Turn.

19th Row – Using both colours rpt 3rd Row. Turn.

20th Row – Using colour 2 rpt 2nd Row. Turn.

21st Row – Using both colours rpt 3rd Row. Turn.

22nd & 23rd Rows – Using colour 1 only, rpt 2nd & 3rd Rows. Turn.

Border – 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr across, 3dc into corner, work dc evenly along into row ends down first side of cloth, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along starting chain edge, 3dc into corner, work dc evenly along into row ends up second side of cloth, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Working 3dc into corners and slip stitching to first dc on the end of the row, work two more rows in dc around cloth. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn.

19th Row – Using both colors rpt 3rd Row. Turn.

20th Row – Using color 2 rpt 2nd Row. Turn.

21st Row – Using both colors rpt 3rd Row. Turn.

22nd & 23rd Rows – Using color 1 only, rpt 2nd & 3rd Rows. Turn.

Border – ch1, 1sc in stitch at base of ch1, 1sc in each dc across, 3sc in corner, work sc evenly along in row ends down first side of cloth, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each ch along starting chain edge, 3sc in corner, work sc evenly along in row ends up second side of cloth, 1sc in corner, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.
