Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used:-
Small amounts of Stylecraft Special DK in each of the colours 1, 2 & 3
4.50mm crochet hook

UK INSTRUCTIONS:
With colour 1 make a magic circle, work 2ch, (RS) 11tr into circle, pull loose thread to close, ss first tr on beginning of round. (11tr)
2nd Round – 2ch, work 2tr into each tr to end, ss to first tr on beginning of round. (22tr)
3rd Round – 1ch, work (1htr, 1tr) into next tr, * 1tr into next tr, 2tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * 3 times, work (1tr, 1htr) into next tr, 1dc into next tr, work (1htr, 1tr) into next tr, rpt from * to * 4 times, (1tr, 1htr) into next tr, 1dc into next tr, ss to first ch on beginning of row. Fasten off.
Leaves – Make 1 leaf in each of the 2 contrast colours.
Make 7ch, 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into next ch, 1htr into next ch, 1dc into last ch, ss into same space. Fasten off.
Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn, attach leaves to top of pumpkin, using dark colour yarn sew crosses for eyes and mouth.
