Reversible crochet baby blanket, cute and cuddly blanket for baby to snugly up in, this one row repeat even moss stitch pattern is so easy to crochet and beginner friendly.

I have made this beautiful crochet baby blanket in light worsted #3 yarn, using two different size hooks, one for the main piece and one for the border.

Two easy formats have been used to write this reversible crochet baby blanket pattern for UK crocheters and USA crafters.

Best Yarn

For great results for this free reversible crochet baby blanket pattern it is always best to use the recommended yarn in the pattern materials section.

I have used Bernat Softee yarn in antique white and soft peach for the sample of the reversible crochet baby blanket, there are lots of other colours to choose from.

Crochet Hook Size

Pattern asks for a 5.50mm hook for the main part of the blanket and 5.00mm crochet hook size for the border.

Crab Stitch
Working left to right, work dc backwards.

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

Size approx:   31 inch length x 27 inch width

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

300 grams of Bernat Softee yarn in colour 1
140 grams of Bernat Softee yarn in colour 2

An equivalent yarn would be double knitting

5.50mm crochet hook & 5.00mm hook for border

UK INSTRUCTIONS:

Made lengthways in multiples of any even number.

With 5.50mm hook and colour 1, make 120ch loosely, ss into 2nd ch from hook, * 1htr into next ch, ss into next ch, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.

2nd Row – 1ch, ss into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, * 1htr into next htr, ss into next ss, * rpt from * to * to end.

Rpt 2nd Row in colour sequence as follows:-.

Ten rows in colour 1
* Two rows in colour 2, six rows in colour 1, two rows in colour 2, twelve rows in colour 1 *

Rpt from * to * four more times until work measures approx 30 inches from beginning. Fasten off.

Border – With 5.00mm hook, colour 1, work one row of dc evenly around blanket to end, (working 3dc into each corner), ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. Fasten off.

Join in colour 2, work 1dc into each dc around blanket to end, (working 3dc into each corner), ss to first dc on beginning of row. DNT.

Work one row of crab stitch (see abbrev) around blanket to end, ss to first stitch. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn.
