Free Sparkly Baby Crochet Blanket Pattern – Baby blankets are one of my readers favourite things to crochet, they can be made in a variety of crochet stitches

This sparkly baby crochet blanket makes up fast because it is a one row repeat pattern, beginner crocheters will be happy to learn that this design uses only two basic stitches and so will be easy to make.

ss.     Slip Stitch

fptr.     Front Post Treble Crochet

Group.  (1dc, 2tr) into same stitch or space.

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

Approx Finished Size:   33.5 x 35 Inches

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

300 grams of King Cole Baby Glitz DK in colour 1
180 grams of King Cole Baby Glitz DK in each of the colours 2 & 3

4.50mm crochet hook

TENSION – 2 groups & 4 rows measures approx 1 inch

UK INSTRUCTIONS:

Made in multiples of 3 + 1

With colour 1 make 157ch loosely, work 1dc, 2tr into 2nd ch from hook, * miss 2ch, work 1dc, 2tr into next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch, miss 1ch, work 1dc into next ch. Turn. (52 groups)

2nd Row – 1ch, work 1dc, 2tr into stitch at base of 1ch, * miss 2tr, work 1dc, 2tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last group, miss 2tr, work 1dc into last dc. Turn.

Rpt 2nd Row 8 times. Fasten off. Turn.

Changing colours every 10 rows in sequence 2, 3 and 1, rpt 2nd Row until 120 rows have been worked in all. Turn.

Border – 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr and dc across, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each row end down first side of blanket, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along starting ch edge, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each row end up second side of blanket, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Second Row – Working (1tr, 1ch, 1tr) into each of the corners, work 1tr into each dc around to end, ss to first tr on beginning of row. Turn.

Third Row – Working (1tr, 1ch, 1tr) into each of the corners, work * 1fptr into next tr, 1bptr into next tr, * rpt from * to * around to end, ss to first tr on beginning of row. Turn. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn.

USA format below:-

Sweet pattern, I have used four shades, changing colour every 10 rows, but you can use as many or as little colours as you wish. Hope you enjoy making it.
