Approx Finished Size:  37.5 x 37.5

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

450 grams of King Cole Comfort DK in colour 1
Small amount of King Cole Comfort in colour 2

4.50mm crochet hook.

TENSION – 1.5 shell groups and 2.5 rows measures approx 1 inch

UK INSTRUCTIONS:

Made in Multiples of 4 + 1

Make 181ch loosely, 1 shell into 6th ch from hook, * miss 3ch, 1 shell into next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 3ch, miss 2ch, 1tr into last ch. Turn. (44 Shells)

2nd Row – 3ch, work 1vst into each 1ch space of shell to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (44 vst)

3rd Row – 3ch, work 1shell into each 1ch space of vst to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

Rpt 2nd & 3rd Rows until 75 rows have been worked in all. Turn.

Border – 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, miss 1tr, * (1dc into next tr, 1ch space and tr), miss 2tr, * rpt from * to last tr and 3tch, miss 1tr, 3dc into top of 3ch, work 1dc into next row end and 2dc into next row end alternately down first side, 3dc into corner, 1dc into 2ch space, # 1dc into next ch, 2dc into next 3ch space, # rpt # to # to last 2ch space and tr, 1dc into ch space, 3dc into tr, work 1dc into next row end and 2dc into next row end alternately up second side, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn.

Second Row – Join in colour 2, make 3ch, 1tr into stitch at base of 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, working 3tr into each corner, 1tr into last corner, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.

Third Row – 4ch, 1tr into stitch at base of 4ch, # * miss 2tr, 1vst into next tr, * rpt from * to * to next corner, (1tr, 1ch, 1tr, 1ch, 1tr) into centre tr, # rpt # to # to end, work 1tr, 1ch into last corner, ss to 3rd of 4ch on beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn.

Fourth Row – Join in colour 1 with a ss to top of 3tch, work * (1tr, 2dtr, 1tr) into next vst, ss between next 2vst, * rpt from * to * to end, working a ss into the centre tr on the corners.

Flower – Made in rounds without turning throughout.

Using colour 2 make a magic circle, (RS) Work 3ch, 1tr into circle, * make 8ch, ss to top of last tr worked, work 3tr into circle, * rpt from * to * until you have worked 5, 8ch loops and 16tr, make 8ch, ss to top of last tr worked, 1tr into circle, pull loose thread to close, sl st to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (17tr, 6, 8ch loops + 3ch)

Petal Row – * work (1dc, 2htr, 6tr, 2htr, 1dc) into 8ch loop, ss into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, working last ss into the first dc on the beginning of row. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in trim off all loose ends of yarn, attach flower to one of the corners of the crochet v-shell baby blanket.
