Crochet Boxed Block Stitch

Crochet Boxed Block Stitch – This weeks stitch tutorial is a simple and easy design that works up really fast.

It can be used for many projects like cushion covers, bedspreads, blankets etc.

Crochet boxed block stitch

Whether it is made in plain colors or several different shades, I love the stunning effect it makes.

The materials used for the swatch were Paintbox Simply Double Knitting yarn in Lipstick Pink, White and Light Caramel using a 5.00mm Clover crochet hook

Crochet Boxed Block Stitch

Abbreviations – USA

ch.                   Chain
dc.                   Double Crochet

Make a chain length in multiples of 5 + 4

1st Row – Work 1dc in 4th ch from hook, * ch3, skip 3ch, work 1dc in each of next 2ch, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.

2nd Row – ch3, work 5dc in every 3ch space to end, 1dc in top of ch3.
Turn.

3rd Row – ch3, 1dc in next dc, * ch3, skip 3dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end, work last dc in top of ch3. Turn.

Continue to repeat the 2nd & 3rd Rows until you have reached the length you need.crochet boxed block stitch Blue

tr.              Treble Crochet
tch.           Turning Chain
