Crochet Hatch Stitch

Easy one row crochet hatch stitch, when it is crocheted it creates a diamond shape, suitable for baby blankets, shawls, placemats, scarves etc, it’s completely reversible so has many uses, you will have lots of fun crocheting any item with this stitch.

Abbreviations
USA-UK

ch.         Chain
dc/tr.    Double Crochet (Treble Crochet UK)
sc/dc.    Single Crochet (Double Crochet UK)
rpt.        Repeat
Group.  (1sc, ch3, 3dc) in same space or stitch

The materials used for the sample were Paintbox Double Knitting yarn in Lipstick Pink, Spearmint Green and White.

Using a 5.00mm Clover crochet hook

Make a ch length in multiples of 4

Work 3dc/tr in 5th ch from hook, * skip 3ch, (1sc/dc, ch3, 3dc/tr) in next ch, * rpt
from * to * to last 3ch, skip next 2ch, 1sc/dc in last ch. Turn.

Pattern Row – ch4, skip ch3, 3dc/tr into 4th ch from hook, * skip 3dc/tr, (1sc/dc, ch3, 3dc/tr) in next ch3 space, * rpt from * to * to last group, skip 3dc/tr, 1sc/dc in ch3 space. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row until length required.
