Today I’ve added the arch column crochet stitch to my
stitch collection.
It is made over 2 rows of pattern and is quite easy to do once you get into a flow with it, turn this beautiful stitch into baby garments, blankets, cushion covers, chair backs etc.

Arch Column Crochet Stitch
Abbreviations
ch. Chain
dc. Double Crochet
rpt. Repeat
fpdc. Work dc around front of the dc on row below
bpdc. Work dc around back of the dc on row below
I used a 5.50mm Clover crochet hook and worsted weight #3 yarn for this sample.

Make a length of ch’s in multiples of 7 + 3
Row 1 – Work 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in next ch, * ch2, skip 2ch’s, 1dc in next 5ch, * rpt from * to * to last 5ch, ch2, skip 2ch’s, 1dc in each of last 3ch’s. Turn.
Row 2 – ch3, skip 2dc, work 6dc in next ch2 space, * skip 2dc, 1bpdc (see abbrev) around next dc, skip 2dc, 6dc in next ch2 space, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc and ch3, skip 2dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.
Row 3 – ch3, 1dc in next 2dc, ch2, * skip next 2dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, work 1fpdc (see abbrev) around next dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, ch2 * rpt from * to * to last 4dc and ch3, skip 2dc, 1dc in each of last 2dc, 1dc in top of 3ch. Turn.
Row 4 – Rpt Row 2.
Rpt Rows 3 & 4 until desired length.
