Autumn Breeze Crochet Earwarmer – Fall is here, crochet this earwarmer/headband to have cosy ears in the colder months.

A simple pattern made in a one stitch repeat.

I loved making this ear warmer, needless to say probably every female member of my family will receive one as gift at some point lol.

The pattern gives a lovely textured design and when using neutral colours you can match it with most outfits.

Autumn Breeze Crochet Earwarmer

Abbreviations UK
ch.        Chain
dc.        Double Crochet
rpt.       Repeat

ss.         Slip Stitch
DNT.     Do Not Turn

Crab Stitch.  Working left to right work dc backwards.

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

Size to Fit:    Adult

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

35 grams of King Cole Comfort DK

4.50mm Crochet Hook

UK INSTRUCTIONS:

Made in multiples of 2.

Make 92ch loosely, ss to first ch to make a round, working into back bump of stitch (see pic) make 1ch, work 1dc into ch at base of 1ch, 1dc into each ch to end, ss to first dc on beginning of round. Turn. (92dc)

front-back bump

2nd Round – 1ch, work 2dc into stitch at base of 1ch, * miss 1dc, 2dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, miss dc, ss to first dc on beginning of round. Turn.

Rpt 2nd Round until 14 rounds have been worked in all from beginning. Turn.

15th Round – 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end. Turn.

Work one row of crab stitch (see abbrev) around the top and the starting chain edge of the earwarmer. Fasten off.

Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn.

Central Band – Make 6ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (5dc)

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch and turning at the end of each row, work 16 rows of 1dc into each dc to end. Turn.

Fold work around headband (see pic), ss last row worked and starting chain edge together to make a round. Fasten off.

Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn.
