Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-
35 grams of King Cole Big Value Baby DK in colour 1
Small amount of King Cole Big Value Baby DK yarn in colour 2
4.50mm & 4.00mm Clover Crochet Hook

Using 4.50mm hook and colour 1, make 100ch, ss to first ch to form a ring, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each ch to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (100dc)
2nd Row – (RS) 1ch, ss into base of 1ch, htr into next dc, * ss into next dc, htr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first ss on beginning of row. Turn.
3rd Row – 1ch, 1htr into base of 1ch, ss into next htr, * 1htr into next ss, ss into next htr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first htr on beginning of row. Turn.
4th Row – 1ch, ss into base of 1ch, 1htr into next ss, * ss into next htr, htr into next ss, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first ss on beginning of row. Turn.
Rpt 3rd & 4th Row until 16 rows (including dc row) have been worked in all from beginning. Turn.
17th Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each st to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.
Heart Appliqué – Using 4.00mm hook and colour 2, make a magic circle, (RS) work 4ch, (4dtr, 4tr, 1ch, 1dtr, 1ch, 4tr, 4dtr, 4ch, ss) into circle. Pull end of yarn to close circle. Turn.
2nd Row – 4ch, 1dc into top of 4ch, 2dc into each of next 3st, 1dc into each of next 6st, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into dtr, 1dc into each of next 6st, 2dc into each of next 3st, 1dc into top of 4ch, make 4ch, ss into centre of magic circle.
Fasten off. Make as many hearts as you wish.
Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn, attach heart appliqué to headband.
