Crochet Lively Bean Hairband

Crochet Lively Bean Hairband – Made for bad hair days or use just as a fashion accessory, this colorful hairband is also wide enough to cover your ears on cold days. Made in bean stitch with light worsted yarn on a 4.50mm crochet hook.

Insert the hook in next st and pull up a loop, (2 loops on hook ) yo, insert in same st and pull up a loop, (4 loops on hook) yo insert in same st and pull up a loop, (6 loops on hook) yo and pull though all 6 loops, ch1.

Base of ch.   Work in first stitch.

Approx Finished Size:   11.5 Inch when joined x 3 Inch wide

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

12 grams of Stylecraft Special DK yarn in each of the colors 1, 2 & 3

An equivalent yarn would be a light worsted #3

4.50mm Clover Crochet Hook

GAUGE – 2BS & 3 rows measures approx 1 inch

With color 1 ch14 loosely, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn. (13sc)

2nd Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * skip 1sc, BS (see abrev) in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last 2sc, skip 1sc, 1sc in last sc. Turn. (5BS)

Pattern Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * skip ch1, work BS in next BS, rpt from * to * to last sc, 1sc in sc. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row in color sequence as follows:-

Three more rows in color 1

# Five rows in color 2
Five Rows in color 3
Five rows in color 1 #

Rpt from # to # three more times.

Rpt Pattern Row five times in color 2 and five times in color 3. (75, BS rows in all)

Do not fasten off.

Fold your work in half length ways, so the two short sides line up, working through both sides of work, slip stitch loosely across to close, this will make a round.

Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends if yarn.
