Group. (3tr, 1ch, 1tr) into same space or stitch

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

Approx Size to fit:   4 inches wide x 22.5 inches long

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

40 grams of King Cole Big Value Baby DK

4.50mm crochet hook, 2 medium buttons

TENSION – 1 pattern rpt & 2 rows measures approx 1 inch

Made in multiples of 4 + 3

Make 15ch, (RS) work (3tr, 1ch, 1tr) into 5th ch from hook, * miss 3ch, (3tr, 1ch, 1tr) into next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch, miss 1ch, 1tr into last ch. Turn. (3 groups)

2nd Row – 3ch, (3tr, 1ch, 1tr) into next 1ch space, * miss 4tr, (3tr, 1ch, 1tr) into next 1ch space, * rpt from * to * to last 3tr and tch, miss 3tr, 1tr into top of tch. Turn.

Rpt 2nd Row until 42 rows have been worked in all from beginning. Turn.

Border – 1ch, ss into base of 1ch, * (2dc, 2ch, 2dc) into next 1ch space, ss into space between next 2 groups, * rpt from * to * working last ss into top of tch. DNT, work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 2dc into each row end down the first side of headband, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along starting chain edge, 3dc into corner, work 2dc into each row end up the second side of headband. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc down first side of headband, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each dc along bottom of headband, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each dc up second side of headband. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn, attach buttons and use gaps in stitches as buttonholes.
