This biscuit crochet baby blanket is made in multiples of 8 + 5 stitches, crocheted using a worsted weight #4 (Aran for UK) yarn with 5.00mm and 5.50mm crochet hook sizes, it can be made larger by adding more chains and rows.

Shell Group. (2tr, 1ch, 2tr) into same space or stitch

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

3ch counts as first tr

Approx Finished Size:   40 Inches x 42 Inches

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, you will need approximately:-

330 grams of Caron Simply Soft #4 yarn in colour 1
210 grams of Caron Simply Soft #4 yarn in colour 2
300 grams of Caron Simply Soft #4 yarn in colour 3

An equivalent yarn would be an Aran weight

5.00mm & 5.50mm crochet hooks

TENSION – 4htr & 3 rows measures approx 1 inch

UK INSTRUCTIONS:

Made in multiples of 8 + 5.

Using colour 1 and 5.50mm hook make 149ch loosely, (RS) work 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into next ch, * miss 2ch, 1 shell (see abbrev) into next ch, miss 2ch, 1tr into each of next 3ch, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (19, 3tr blocks, 18 shell groups)

2nd Row – 3ch, 1tr into each of next 2tr, * miss 2tr, 1 shell into 1ch space of next shell, miss 2tr, 1tr into each of next 3tr, * rpt from * to * to end, working last tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

Rpt 2nd Row in colour sequence as follows:-

4 rows in colour 1

# 2 rows in colour 2
6 rows in colour 3
2 rows in colour 2
6 rows in colour 1 #

Rpt from # to # until 70 rows have been worked in all from beginning. Turn.

Change to 5.00mm hook.

Border – 1ch, 1htr into base of 1ch, 1htr into each stitch to end, 3htr into top of 3ch, work 2htr evenly into each row end down first side of blanket, 3htr into corner, 1htr into each ch along the starting chain edge, 3htr into corner, 2htr evenly into row ends up the second side of blanket, 2htr into corner, ss to first htr on beginning of row. DNT. Fasten off.

Join in colour 2, working 3htr into each of the corners, work 1ch, 1hdc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1htr into each htr around blanket to end, ss to first htr on beginning of row. DNT.

Rpt last row once. Fasten off.

Join in colour 3 and work last row once. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave and trim off all loose ends of yarn.
