Circular Crochet Baby Blanket

Circular crochet baby blanket, this beautiful round cover is crocheted in a shell stitch design and edged in picot points, I have used 2 colour shades to make it in, but you could use a solid white and use as a Christening shawl, it is perfect for baby shower gift.

I have used a light worsted #3 (DK for UK) yarn and a 4.50mm crochet hook, to make this free crochet pattern sample in, it measures approximately 35 inches in diameter, if you want to make it larger you can change hook sizes and use a thicker yarn if you wish.

UK INSTRUCTIONS:

Worked in rounds without turning throughout until the end of the 33rd Round.

Make 6ch, ss to first ch to form a ring, make 3ch, work 15tr into ring, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. (15tr + 3ch)

2nd Round – 3ch, 1tr into the stitch at the base of the 3ch, 2tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. (31tr + 3ch)

3rd Round – 4ch, work * 1tr into next tr, make 1ch, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to 3rd of 4ch on beginning of round. (32, 1ch spaces)

4th Round – 3ch, work * 1tr into each 1ch space and tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. (63tr + 3ch)

Will look a little wavy here but flattens out over a few rows.

5th Round – 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round.

6th Round – 3ch, * miss 1tr, work 1 shell (see abbrev) into next tr, miss 1tr, 1tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last 3tr, miss 1tr, 1 shell into next tr, miss 1tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. (16 shells)

Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn.
