For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn
I have used approximately:-
20 grams of Lion Brand Baby Soft in color 1
25 grams of Lion Brand Baby Soft in color 2

4.00mm Clover Crochet Hook

GAUGE – 5dc & 3.5 rows measures approx 1 inch

Crochet baby feeding bib

(WS) With color 1 ch36 loosely, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn. (35sc)

2nd Row – Working in back loop of stitch only ch3, 1dc in each sc to end. Turn. (34dc + ch3)

3rd Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to end, 1sc in top of ch3. Turn. (35sc)

4th Row – Rpt 2nd Row.

Rpt 3rd and 4th Rows 6 more times or until 16 rows have been worked.

Fasten off.

Join in color 2 and work 3rd and 4th Rows twice. Turn.

Work 3rd Row once. Turn. (Work should measure approx 6 inches)

Shape Neck

Side One – Working in back of stitch ch3, 1dc in each of next 9sc. Turn leaving 25sc un-worked.

Second Row – ch1, dec 1sc over first 2dc, (see abbrev) 1sc in each dc to end, 1sc in top of ch3. Turn. (9sc)

Third Row – Working in back of stitch ch3, 1dc in each of next 6sc, dc2tog (see abbrev) over next 2sc. Turn.

Fourth Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to end. (8sc)

Fifth Row – Working in back of stitch, ch3, 1dc in each sc to end. (7dc + ch3)

Fasten off.

Side Two – Return to un-worked stitches on neck edge, with RS of work facing, skip next 15sc, join in color 2 to back loop of next sc, ch3, 1dc in each of next 9sc. Turn.

Row 2 – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to last dc and 3tch, dec 1sc over last dc and ch3. Turn.

Row 3 – Working in back of stitch ch3, dc2tog over next 2sc, 1dc in each of next 6sc. Turn.

Row 4 – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to end, 1sc in top of ch3. Turn. (8sc)

Row 5 – Working in back of stitch, ch3, 1dc in each sc to end. (7dc + ch3)

Fasten off. 

Edging – With WS facing, join in color 2 with a sl st to the top left corner of shoulder edge, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 39sc evenly in row ends down first side of bib, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each ch along starting chain edge, 3sc in corner, work 39sc evenly in row ends up second side of bib, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each of next 6sc on shoulder, 3sc in corner, 7sc evenly along neck edge, 1sc in each of next 15sc, 7sc evenly along second side of neck edge, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each of next 6sc along shoulder, 1sc in top of ch3, sl st to first sc on the beginning of row. Turn.

Next Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc all around bib to end, working 3sc in all corners. Turn.

Rpt last row once.

Fasten off.

Chain Ties x 2 – With RS of work facing and using both of color yarns together, sl st to a sc on shoulder (close to neck corner), ch60.

Fasten off.

Rpt the same on the opposite side of the neck.

Tie ends x 2 – With color 2 make magic circle, ch1, 8sc in ring, pull loose thread to close circle, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

Finishing – Sew in and tie off all loose threads of yarn, attach Tie Ends to the ends of the Chain Ties, sew flower motif to corner or car motif to centre on bib.
