For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

160 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK in colour 1
Small amounts of King Cole Cottonsoft DK in each of the colours 2, 3 & 4

4.00mm Clover Crochet Hook

TENSION – 1.5, 3tr Groups and 3 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Washcloth – With colour 1 make 40ch loosely, (RS) work 1tr into 4th ch, * miss 1ch, 1dc into next ch, miss 1ch, 3tr into next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 4ch, miss 1ch, 1dc into next ch, miss 1ch, 2tr into last ch. Turn. (8, 3tr groups + 2 halves)

Working into the BLO on all dc and through both loops on all tr’s continue as follows:-

Pattern Row 1 – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * miss 1tr, 3tr into next dc, miss 1tr, 1dc into centre tr of 3tr group, * rpt from * to * to last dc, tr and 3ch, miss 1tr, 3tr into last dc, miss 1tr, 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn. (9,3tr groups)

Pattern Row 2 – 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, * miss 1tr, 1dc into centre tr of 3tr group, miss 1tr, 3tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3tr group and dc, miss 1tr, 1dc into centre tr of 3tr group, miss 1tr, work 2tr into last dc. Turn.

Fasten off. Join in colour 2 and work Pattern Row 1 once. Fasten off.

Join in colour 3 and work Pattern Row 2 once. Fasten off.

Join in colour 4 and work Pattern Row 1 once. Fasten off.

Join in colour 1 and work Pattern Row 2.

Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 four more times each until 15 rows have been worked in all from beginning or work measures approx 5 inches. Fasten off.

Working colours in reverse order, work Pattern Rows 1, 2 & 1 using the 3 contrast colours. Fasten off.

Join in main colour and work Pattern Row 2, 1 & 2. Turn.

Edging – Working through both loops from now on make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr and dc along, 3dc into corner, work 31dc evenly into row ends down first side, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along starting chain edge, 3dc into corner, work 31dc evenly into row ends up second side, 1dc into base of 1ch, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Starting with 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, work 1tr into each dc around all four sides of cloth, working 3tr into each corner, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of the 1ch, work one row of 1dc into each tr around all four sides of cloth, working 3dc into corners, ss to first dc on the beginning of row. DNT.

Work 1 row of crab stitch (see abbrev) into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Bottle Warmer – Made in rounds without turning until the end of 4th Round.

With colour 1 make 6ch, ss to first ch to make a ring, 3ch, work 13tr into ring, ss to top of 3ch. (13tr + 3ch)

2nd Round – 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, work 2tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (27tr + 3ch)

3rd Round – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch. (28dc)

Working into the BLO on all dc and through both loops on all tr’s continue as follows:-

4th Round – 1ch, dc into base of 1ch, * miss 1dc, 3tr into next dc, miss 1dc, 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc, miss 1dc, 3tr into next dc, miss 1tr, ss to first dc. Turn. (7, 3tr groups)

6th Round – ss into first dc, work (3ch, 2tr) into same space, * miss 1tr, 1dc into centre tr of 3tr group, miss 1tr, 3tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3tr group, miss 1tr, 1dc into centre tr of 3tr group, miss 1tr, ss to top of 3ch. Turn.

Rpt 6th Round 6 more times. Fasten off.

Rpt 6th Round in each of the colours 2, 3 & 4

Rpt 6th Round 3 more times in colour 1. Fasten off.

Work one row of crab stitch around loose loops on 3rd Round (you can use a larger hook size here) Fasten off.

COAT – Worked in one piece starting with yoke.

With colour 1 make 49ch, (RS) 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each ch to end. Turn. (46tr + 3ch)

Second Row – (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into each of next 2tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 3tr, * rpt from * to * to end, working last tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (57tr + 3ch)

Third Row – 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

Fourth Row – (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into next tr * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 2tr * rpt from * to * to last tr and 3ch to turn with, 2tr into tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (76tr + 3ch)

Fifth Row – Rpt Third Row. Turn.

Sixth Row – (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into next tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into next 2tr * rpt from * to * to end, working last tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (101tr + 3ch)

Seventh Row – Rpt Third Row. Turn.

Eighth Row – (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into each of next 2tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into next 2tr * rpt from * to * to end working last tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (134tr + 3ch)

Ninth Row (Divide for armholes) – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 21tr, 2dc into next tr, miss 22tr, 1dc into each of next 45tr, miss 22tr, 2dc into next tr, 1dc into each of next 21tr, 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn. (93dc)

Commence Skirt – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * miss 1dc, 3tr into next dc, miss 1dc, 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (23,3tr groups)

Working into the BLO on all dc and through both loops on all tr’s continue as follows until front bands:-

Row 2 – 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, * miss 1tr, 1dc into centre tr of 3tr group, miss 1tr, 3tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3tr group and dc, miss 1tr, 1dc into centre tr of 3tr group, miss 1tr, work 2tr into last dc. Turn.

Fasten off, join in colour 2.

Row 3 – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * miss 1tr, 3tr into next dc, miss 1tr, 1dc into centre tr of 3tr group, * rpt from * to * to last dc, tr and 3ch, miss 1tr, 3tr into last dc, miss 1tr, 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn. Fasten off.

Join in colour 3 and work Row 2 once.

Join in colour 4 and work Row 3 once.

Join in colour 1 and work Pattern Row 2 & 3 until 15 rows have been worked in all from yoke. Fasten off.

Front Bands – Starting with WS facing, rejoin yarn at lower edge, work 37dc evenly into row ends up first front edge, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch around neck, 3dc into corner, work 38dc evenly into row ends down the second front edge. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1 row of 1dc into each dc up first front, around neck and down second front, working 3dc into corners. DNT.

Work 1 row of crab stitch around both fronts and neck to end. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn on washcloth, bottle cover and coat.

Note – The coat has been written without a fastening, if you wish you can add a chain tie, make a chain loop with a button fastening or leave open, the choice is yours.
