You can for a:-

0-3 month baby use a 3.50mm hook
6-12 month baby use a 4.50mm hook

Pattern Row 1 – With colour 1 make 3ch, work 1tr into each stitch to end. Turn. (80tr + 3ch)

Fasten off colour 2.
Border – With RS of work facing, make 1ch, work 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 36dc evenly into row ends up first front edge, 3dc into corner, work 1dc into each ch around neck, 3dc into corner, work 36dc evenly into row ends down second front edge, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each tr along bottom of jacket, ss to first dc. Bottom Rib – With WS facing, Join in colour 2 to bottom right hand corner, make 5ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each dc to end, ss into each of next 2dc on jacket. Turn. (4dc)
Work into BLO for the rib.
Second Row – 1ch, miss 2 ss, work 1dc into each dc to end. Turn.
Third Row – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss into each of next 2dc on jacket. Turn.
Rpt Second & Third Rows along bottom of jacket to end.
