Formats

For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn in the pattern materials section.
I have used Stylecraft Special DK yarn in turquoise and aster for the crochet lacy shells stitch, choose from many other colours though in this brand.
Crochet Hook Size
I have used a 4.50mm crochet hook size for the samples of the crochet lacy shells stitch, but check the ball band of the yarn that you are using for the correct hook size for that ply.

UK INSTRUCTIONS:
Made in multiples of 6 + 3
I have made 39ch for the swatches, work 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into next ch, * make 4ch, miss 4ch, 1dc into each of next 2ch, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.
2nd Row – 3ch, (2tr, 2ch, 2tr) into each 4ch space to end, 1tr into the last dc.
3rd Row – 5ch, 2dc into the next 2ch space, * make 4ch, 2dc into the next 2ch space, * rpt from * to * to end, make 2ch, work 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.
4th Row – 4ch, 2tr into 2ch space, (2tr, 2ch, 2tr) into each 4ch space to 5ch space, work 2tr into space, make 1ch, 1tr into the 3rd of 5ch. Turn.
5th Row – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1dc into next 1ch space, * make 4ch, 2dc into next 2ch space, * rpt from * to * to end, make 4ch, work 1dc into last 1ch space, 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn.
