Base of. Work into first stitch

3ch counts as first tr

Approx Finished size:  11.5 x 11.5 Inches

Materials
70 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK in colour 1

Small amount of King Cole Cottonsoft DK in colour 2

4.50mm crochet hook

TENSION – 4tr and 2.5 rows measures approx 1 Inch.

Made in multiples of 2 + 3.

With colour 1 make 45ch loosely, work 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each ch to end. Turn. (42tr + 3ch)

1st Pattern Row – 3ch, 1fptr into next, * 1tr into next tr, 1fptr into next, * rpt from * to * to end, tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

2nd Pattern Row – 3ch, 1tr into next tr, * 1fptr into next tr, 1tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

Rpt 1st & 2nd Pattern Rows until 25 rows have been worked in all. Fasten off.

Border – Join in colour 2, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr across to 3tch, 3dc into top of 3ch, work 38dc evenly into row ends down first side of cloth, 3dc into corner, work 1dc into ch along starting chain edge, 3dc into corner, work 38dc evenly into row ends up second side of cloth to corner, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Second Row – Working 3dc into the corners and slip stitching to first dc on beginning of row, 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc around four sides of cloth to end.

Rpt Second Row once. Fasten off. Turn.

Decorative Edge – Join in colour 1 with a ss to first dc, work (2ch, 3htr, 2ch, ss) into same dc, * miss 2dc, (ss, 2ch, 3htr, 2ch, ss) into next dc, * rpt from * to * around sides of cloth to last 2dc, miss 2dc, ss to first ss. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn.

For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

70 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK in color 1
Small amount of King Cole Cottonsoft DK in color 2

An equivalent yarn would be a light worsted #3 cotton

4.50mm crochet hook

GAUGE – 4dc and 2.5 rows measures approx 1 Inch.
