Crochet Bathroom Soap Saver – Made in a back loop ribbed stitch, this soap saver is easy and quick to make, I have decorated it with a pretty flower motif to finish it off.

Abbreviations USA
sc.      Single Crochet

dc.      Double Crochet
rpt.    Repeat
sl st.  Slip Stitch
BLO.  Back Loop Only

Base of ch. Work in first stitch

Finished size approx:- 3.25 Inches wide x 5 Inches long

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

20 grams of Paintbox 100% Cotton DK in color 1
20 grams of Paintbox 100% Cotton DK in color 2

An equivalent yarn would be a light worsted #3 100% cotton

4.00mm Clover crochet hook, ribbon rosebud for decoration

GAUGE – 5sc and 6 rows of sc measures approx 1 inch

With color 1 ch12, 3sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each of next 9ch, 6sc in next ch, working on opposite side of cast on ch, work 1sc in each of next 9sc, 3sc in last ch, sl st to first sc. Turn.(30sc)

Pattern Row – Working in BLO (see abbrev) for the row ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row 10 more times.

Fasten off. Join in color 2.

Rpt the Pattern Row 8 more times, making 20 rows in all from the beginning. Turn.

Eyelet Row – Working in BLO for the row ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in next sc, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of next 2sc, * rpt from * to * to last sc, ch2, skip last sc, sl st to first sc. Turn.

Next Row – Working in BLO of the sc’s ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each 2ch space and each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row twice more. Fasten off.

Chain Tie – With color 2 ch60, work sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in each ch to end.

Fasten off.

Finishing – Sew in and tie off all loose ends, thread chain tie through eyelet holes, gather and tie in a bow.

Flower Motif – With color 2 make a magic circle, ch1, work 12sc in circle, pull loose thread to close circle, sl st to first sc. Turn

Next Row – ch1, sl st in base of ch1, * 4dc in next sc, sl st in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last sc, work 4dc in last sc, sl st to first sl st. Fasten off. (6, 4dc groups)

Finishing – Sew in and tie off loose ends, sew flower motif to front of saver and decorate with a ribbon rosebud (optional)
