Crochet Preemie Cardigan-Hat
Cardigan – Worked in one piece starting with yoke.
Make 45ch, 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each ch to end. Turn. (42tr + 3ch)
2nd Row – (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into each of next 2tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 3tr, * rpt from * to * to last 3tr and 3tch, 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 2tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (52tr +3ch)
3rd Row – 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.
4th Row – (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into next tr * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 2tr * rpt from * to * to last 2tr and 3tch, 2tr into next tr, 1tr into last tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (69tr +3ch)
5th Row – Rpt 3rd Row. Turn.
6th Row – (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into next tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 2tr * rpt from * to * to last tr and 3tch, 2tr into last tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (92tr + 3ch)
7th Row – Rpt 3rd Row.
8th Row – (Divide for armholes) Make 3ch, 1tr in each of next 14tr, make 2ch, miss 16tr, 1tr into each of next 31tr, make 2ch, miss 16tr, 1tr into each of next 14tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (60tr, 2, 2ch spaces + 3ch)
9th Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each tr, 2dc into each 2ch space to end, 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn. (65dc)
Commence Skirt – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * miss 1dc, 3tr into next dc, miss 1dc, 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (16, 3tr groups)
Pattern Row 1 – 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, * 1dc into centre tr on next 3tr group, 3tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to the last 3tr group and dc, work 1dc into centre of next 3tr group, 2tr into last dc. Turn.
Pattern Row 2 – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * 3tr into next dc, 1dc into centre tr on next 3tr group, * rpt from * to * to end, working last dc into top of 3ch. Turn.
Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 until 11 rows have been worked or work measures approx 7.5 inches from shoulder.
Sleeves x 2 – With RS facing, join yarn to side of tr on base of armhole, (where you divided) make 1ch, work 2dc around same tr, 1dc into each of next 16tr, 2dc around tr on opposite side of sleeve, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn (20dc)
Next Row – 3ch, work 1tr into base of 3ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into next dc, * miss 1dc, 3tr into next dc, miss 1dc, 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, miss 1dc, 1tr into last dc, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (5, 3tr groups)
First Pattern Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * 3tr into next dc, 1dc into centre tr on next 3tr group, * rpt from * to * to last dc and 1tr, work 3tr into dc, miss 1tr, ss to first dc. Turn.
Second Pattern Row – 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, * 1dc into centre tr on next 3tr group, 3tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3tr, miss 1tr, 1dc into next tr, miss 1tr, work 1tr into base of 3ch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.
Rpt First & Second Pattern Rows until 9 rows have been worked in all from yoke. Fasten off.
Edging – With RS facing, join yarn with a ss to lower edge on right hand side of cardigan, work 34dc evenly into row ends up first front edge, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each stitch around neck, 3dc into corner, 34dc evenly into row ends down second front edge to end. Turn.
Eyelet Holes Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc up the front edge to last dc before corner, * make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into corner, 1dc into each dc around neck to next corner, 1dc into corner, * 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each dc to end. (1 eyelet hole on each side of neck edge). Fasten off.
Finishing – Close small gap underarms, sew in and tie off any loose ends of yarn, thread ribbon through eyelet hole on yoke and tie in bows.
Fasten off.
Bobble Hat – (Top) Leaving length of yarn for gathering later make 51ch, ss to first ch to make a ring, (RS) 3ch, 1tr into each ch to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (50tr + 3ch)
Second Round – 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch. Turn.
Rpt last row until 11 rows have worked in all. Turn.
Twelfth Round – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end, ss to first dc. Turn. (51dc)
Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 2 rows of 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of each row. Fasten off.
Pom-Pom – I used Clover Pom-Pom maker size 45
Finishing – Close small gaps underarms, weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn, thread length of yarn through alternate tr’s to gather top of hat, attach pom-pom to gathered top, decorate with ribbon and bows.

Finishing – Close small gap underarms, sew in and tie off any loose ends of yarn, thread ribbon through eyelet hole on yoke and tie in bows.
Fasten off.
