For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

150 grams of Bernat Softee Baby in Colour 1
15 grams of Bernat Softee Baby in Colour 2

An equivalent yarn would be UK Double Knitting

4.00mm Clover crochet hook
1.5 mtrs of 6mm wide ribbon, 3 buttons

TENSION – 3tr and 3 rows measured on yoke is approx 1 Inch

Dress – Worked in one piece starting with yoke.

With colour 1 make 54ch, (WS) 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each of next 6ch, (back) 3dc into next ch, 1dc into each of next 9ch, (shoulder) 3dc into next ch, 1dc into each of next 17ch, (front) 3dc into next ch, 1dc into each of next 9ch, (shoulder) 3dc into next ch, 1dc into each of next 7ch (back). Turn. (61dc)

Work into back loop of stitch only until you Commence Skirt

2nd Row – (Inc Row) 3ch, * 1tr into each dc to next 3dc group, 1tr into next dc, 3tr into centre dc of 3dc group, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc group, 1tr into next dc, 3tr into centre dc of 3dc group, 1tr into each dc to end. Turn. (68tr + 3ch)

3rd Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * 1dc into each tr to next 3tr group, 1dc into tr, 3dc into centre tr of 3tr group. * rpt from * to * to last 3tr group, 1dc into next tr, 3dc into centre tr of 3tr group, 1dc into each tr to end, 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn. (77dc)

Continue in rounds without turning, repeating Pattern Row until 18 rounds have been worked from yoke or work measures approx 12.3 inches from shoulder.

Button/Buttonhole Bands – With RS facing join in colour 1 to base of right hand side of back edge, make 1ch, work 1dc into base of 1ch, work 21dc evenly into row ends up back opening to neck edge. Turn. (22dc)

Buttonhole Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of next 7dc, * rpt from * to * once, make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of remaining dc. Turn.

Next Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc and 2ch space to end. Fasten off.

Return to neck edge on opposite side of back opening, with RS facing working from neck downwards, work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 21dc evenly into row ends down back opening to end. Turn. (22dc)

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 2 rows of 1dc into each dc to end, turn at the end of each row. Fasten off.

With RS facing join colour 2 to the bottom of the right hand side of back opening, 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc up first back edge, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch around neck, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each dc down second back edge. Fasten off.

Headband – With colour 1 make 70ch loosely, ss to first ch to make a ring, 3ch, (RS) 1tr into each ch to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (69tr + 3ch)

Work into back loop of stitch only from now on.

Second Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end, ss to first dc. Turn.

Starting with 3ch, work 1tr into each dc to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1 row of 1dc into each tr to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn.

Using colour 2, work 1ss into front loop of each dc to end, ss to first ss on beginning of row. Fasten off.

With WS facing, join colour 1 to cast on edge, starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1 row of 1dc into each ch to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn.

Row Four – Working into both loops work 3ch, 1tr into each dc to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (41tr + 3ch)

Row Six – (Dec) 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into next 11tr, 1htr into next tr, dec 1dc over next 2tr by pulling up loop from each of next 2tr, yrh and pull though all loops, (5 times) 1htr into next tr, 1dc into next 11tr, ss to dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Row Seven – 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into each dc to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (30tr + 3ch)

Row Eight – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Row Nine – 3ch, 4tr into base of 3ch, * miss 1dc, 1dc into next dc, miss 1dc, 5tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, miss 1dc, 1dc into next dc, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off. DNT. (8, 5tr groups)

Large (make 2) With colour 2 make magic circle, work 1ch, 8dc into circle, pull loose thread to close circle, ss to first dc on beginning of row.

Second Row – 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 2tr into each dc to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (15tr + 3ch)
