Join in colour 2 Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc to end. Turn

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1 row of picot edge to end. Fasten off.

Buttonhole Band
Return to first front edge and working from neck downwards with WS facing, rejoin colour 1 to centre dc of 3dc on corner, 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of next 5dc, * rpt from * to * once, make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of remaining dc. Fasten off. Turn. (3 buttonholes made)

Join in colour 2, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc and 2ch space to end. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1 row of picot edge to end. Fasten off.

Collar – Make 55ch, (RS) 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into the next 6ch (Front), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into next 8ch (Shoulder), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into the next 17ch (Back), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into the next 8ch. Rpt 2nd Row from yoke three more times. Fasten off. Turn. (84tr + 3ch)

Next Row – (Inc Row) Join in colour 2, make 1ch, * 1dc into each tr to next 3tr group, 1dc into next tr, 3dc into centre tr of 3tr group, * rpt from * to * to last 3tr group, 1dc into next tr, 3dc into centre tr of 3tr group, 1dc into each tr to end, 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn. (93dc)

Work 1 row of picot edge all around collar. Fasten off.

Finishing – Close small gap under each arm, to join the collar to the coat whip stitch around the neck edge on the WS, weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn. Attach buttons to correspond with buttonholes.

Ski Hat – With colour 2 make 71ch loosely, ss to first ch to form a ring, work 3ch, 1tr into each ch to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn (70tr + 3ch)

Starting with 3ch work 11 more rows of 1tr into each tr to end, slip stitching and turning at the end of each row. Fasten off. Turn.

Brim – Join in colour 1, make 1ch, work 1dc into each tr to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Working into BLO make 3ch, work (2tr, 1ch, 1tr) into base of 3ch, * miss 3dc, (3tr, 1ch, 1tr) into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc, miss 3dc, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (18 groups)

Working through both loops from now on rpt 3rd Row from sleeve until 4 rows have been worked. Turn.

Next row – Missing all 1ch spaces work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (72dc)

Work 1 row of picot edge evenly along, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Finishing
Centre back seam, with WS facing whip stitch along top edge to close. Join yarn to a corner, make 10ch, ss to the opposite corner. Fasten off. (This makes the shape of the hat and is optional)

Turn through to the right side. Fold the brim onto the hat.

Booties – With colour 2 make 27ch loosely, ss to first ch to make a ring, work 1ch, (RS) 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each ch to end, ss to first dc on beginning row Turn. (27dc)

Next Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Rpt last row until 8 rows have been worked in all. Fasten off. Turn.

Instep
Miss 9dc rejoin yarn to 10th dc with a ss, 1ch, 1dc into base of ch, 1dc into each of next 8dc. Turn. (9dc)

Next row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 8dc. Turn.

Rpt last row until 9 rows have been worked in all. Fasten off. Turn.

Shape Sole
With RS facing return to back seam where you casted off at ankle, (see pic)
