Back # # With colour 1, make 59ch, (RS) 1tr into 5th ch from hook, 1tr into next ch, * make 1ch, miss 1ch, 1tr into each of next 2ch, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch, make 1ch, miss 1ch, 1tr into last ch. Turn. (18, 2tr groups)

Pattern Row – 4ch, miss first 1ch space, * 1tr into each of next 2tr, make 1ch, miss 1ch space, * rpt from * to * to end, 1tr into 3rd of 4ch. Turn.

Shape Armholes – ss over first 7st’s, make 4ch, miss 1ch space, * 1tr into each of next 2tr, make 1ch, miss 1ch space, * rpt from * to * to last two 2tr groups, 1tr into next tr. Turn.

Skirt Pattern Row – ss to centre of next shell group, (3ch, 1tr, 1ch, 2tr) into 1ch space of same shell group, work 1 shell into each shell to end, ss to top of 3ch. Fasten off.

Join in colour 2 and rpt Skirt Pattern Row 14 more times. (you should have 16 rows worked in all from bodice)

Working into BLO of 1ch on each shell, work Skirt Pattern Row once.

Working through both loops rpt the Skirt Pattern Row twice. Fasten off.

Picot Shells Row – Join colour 1 into first shell with a ss, work (3ch, 1tr, 3ch, 1dc into 1st of 3ch, 2tr) into same shell, work (2tr, 3ch, 1dc into 1st of 3ch, 2tr) into each shell to end. Fasten off.

Return to row with loose loops and join in colour 1 to front loop on first ch, rpt the Picot Shells Row into front loop of 1ch on each shell to end. Fasten off.

Next Row – (Dec row) 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * dec 1dc over next 2dc, (see abbrev) 1dc into each of next 3dc, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (33dc) 

Next Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc, to end. Fasten off.

Finishing – Sew up sleeve seams, sew in and tie off ends, sew sleeves into position, remove marker from bodice.

Edge Back Opening – Using colour 2 with RS facing, join yarn to side of 3ch on base of back opening, make 1ch, work 13dc evenly into row ends up first side of back edge to corner, 3dc into corner, work 40dc evenly around neck edge to next corner, 3dc into corner, work 13dc evenly along into row ends down second side of back edge to end. Turn.

2nd Row (Buttonhole Row) 1ch, 1dc into each dc to corner, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each dc around neck to next corner, 1dc into corner * make 2ch miss 1dc, 1dc into each of next 4dc, * rpt from * to * once, make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of remaining dc. Turn. (3 buttonholes)

3rd Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc and 2ch space around the neck and back opening to end, working 3dc into the corners. Fasten off.

Second Round – 1ch, (1dc, 1tr, 3dtr, 1tr, 1dc) into each 2ch space to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. (6 Petals) # # 

Third Round – Working behind petals of Second Round, make 5ch, 1dc in next tr of First Round, (between the dc on the Second Round) * make 4ch, 1dc in next tr of First Round, * rpt from * to * (3 more times), make 4ch, ss into first of 5ch on beginning of round. 

Fourth Round – 1ch, (1dc, 2tr, 4dtr, 2tr, 1dc) in each 4ch space to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off. (6 Petals)

Chain Tie – With colour 2 make 150ch. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn, sew on buttons to correspond with the buttonholes, thread chain tie under bodice and tie in a bow, attach the rose to the bodice on front of dress.

Cap – Worked in rows without turning throughout.

With colour 1 make 6ch, join with ss to form a ring, work 3ch, 11tr into ring, join with a ss to top of 3ch.

2nd Row – 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 2tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch, (23tr + 3ch)

3rd Row – 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into next tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch. (35tr + 3ch)

4th Row – 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into each of the next 2tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 2tr * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch. (47tr + 3ch)

5th Row – 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into each of next 3tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 3tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch. (59tr + 3ch)

7th Row – With colour 2 and working into BLO, make 3ch, 1tr, 1ch, 2tr into next tr, * miss 3tr, 1 shell into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last 2tr, miss last 2tr, ss to top of 3ch. (18 shell groups)

8th Row – ss to centre of shell, 3ch, 1tr, 1ch, 2tr into same shell, 1 shell into each shell to end, ss to top of 3ch.

Rpt the last row 4 more times, making 6 rows in all. Fasten off.

Join in colour 1 and rpt last row from skirt on dress (picot shells). Fasten off.

Using colour 1 work picot edge (see abbrev) in loose loops on crown, ss to first dc. Fasten off.

Rose – Using colour 1 work from # #  to # # on rose motif. Fasten off.

Chain Bow – With colour 1 make 61ch. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim any loose ends of yarn, attach flower on side of cap, thread chain length through a couple of stitches on hat and tie in a bow for decoration.

Boots – Starting from the Ankle.

With colour 2 make 27ch, ss to first ch to form a ring, (RS) make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each ch to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (27dc)

Eyelet Holes Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into next dc, * 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, 1dc into last dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc and 2ch space to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn.

Instep – Miss 9dc, rejoin colour 2 to next dc, work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 8dc, turn leaving 9dc un-worked. (9dc)

Starting each row with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work a further 8 rows in dc on these 9st, turning at the end of each row. Fasten off.

Sole – With WS facing, rejoin colour 2 at base of ankle where you casted off, work 1dc into each of next 9dc, 9dc evenly along into row ends on side of instep, 1dc into next 9dc across toe, 9dc evenly into row ends along second side of instep, 1dc into each of next 9dc along second side of ankle, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn (45dc)

Working through BLO, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Top – (Picot Shells) With RS side facing, join colour 1 with a ss to first ch on starting chain edge at top of ankle, work (3ch, 1tr, 3ch, 1dc into 1st of 3ch, 2tr) into base of 3ch, * miss 2ch, work (2tr, 3ch, 1dc into 1st of 3ch, 2tr) into next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch, miss 2ch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Chain Ties x 2 – With colour 2 make 75ch. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn, thread chain tie through the eyelet holes on ankle and tie in a bow.

5th Row – ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 1dc in each of next 3dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of next 3dc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3. (59dc + ch3)

6th Row – ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 1dc in each of next 4dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of next 4dc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3. (71dc + ch3). Fasten off.

7th Row – With color 2 and working in BLO, ch3, 1dc, ch1, 2dc in next dc, * skip 3dc, 1 shell in next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, skip last 2dc, sl st to top of ch3. (18 shell groups)

8th Row – sl st to centre of shell, ch3, 1dc, ch1, 2dc in same shell, 1 shell in each shell to end, sl st to top of ch3.

Rpt the last row 4 more times, making 6 rows in all. Fasten off.

Join in color 1 and rpt last row from skirt on dress (picot shells). Fasten off.

Using color 1 work picot edge (see abbrev) in loose loops on crown, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

Rose – Using color 1 work from # #  to # # on rose motif. Fasten off.

Chain Bow – With color 1 ch61. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim any loose ends of yarn, attach flower on side of cap, thread chain length through a couple of stitches on hat and tie in a bow for decoration.

Boots – Starting from the Ankle.

With color 2 ch27, sl st to first ch to form a ring, (RS) ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each ch to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (27sc)

Eyelet Holes Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in next sc, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of next 2sc, * rpt from * to * to last sc, 1sc in last sc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.

Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc and ch2 space to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn.

Instep – Skip 9sc, rejoin color 2 to next sc, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 8sc, turn leaving 9sc un-worked. (9sc)

Starting each row with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work a further 8 rows in sc on these 9st, turning at the end of each row. Fasten off.

Sole – With WS facing, rejoin color 2 at base of ankle where you casted off, work 1sc in each of next 9sc, 9sc evenly along in row ends on side of instep, 1sc in next 9sc across toe, 9sc evenly in row ends along second side of instep, 1sc in each of next 9sc along second side of ankle, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn (45sc)

Working through BLO, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.

Dec Row 1 – Working through both loops, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, dec 1sc over next 2sc, (see abbrev) 1sc in next 17sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in next sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in next 17sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in last sc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.

Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (41sc)

Top – (Picot Shells) With RS side facing, join color 1 with a sl st to first ch on starting chain edge at top of ankle, (ch3, 1dc, ch3, 1sc in 1st of ch3, 2dc) in base of ch3, * skip 2ch, work (2dc, ch3, 1sc in 1st of ch3, 2dc) in next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch, skip 2ch, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Chain Ties x 2 – With color 2 ch75. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn, thread chain tie through the eyelet holes on ankle and tie in a bow.
