For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-
55 grams of King Cole Baby 4ply yarn in colour 1
50 grams of King Cole Baby 4ply yarn in colour 2
3.50mm crochet hook, 3 small buttons
6mm wide satin ribbon.
For a smaller baby you can use a smaller hook size OR for a bigger baby use a larger hook and a DK (#3) yarn

Starting with ch1, work (2sc, ch2, 2sc) in base of ch1, * skip 2sc, (2sc, ch2, 2sc) in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last 2sc, skip 2sc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off.
With WS facing and color 1, start with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1 and work 2 rows of sc evenly along neck edge. Fasten off.
Finishing – Weave in and trim off loose ends of yarn, thread ribbon around neck edge.
Boots – With color 2 ch21 loosely, sl st to first ch to form a ring, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each ch to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (21sc)
