Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

250 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in colour 1
170 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in each of the colours 2 & 3

5.50mm Clover Crochet Hook

TENSION – 4tr and 3 rows measures approx 1 Inch

With colour 1 make 151ch loosely, work 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each ch to end. Turn. (148tr + 3ch)

2nd Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end. Turn. (149dc)

3rd Row – 3ch, 1tr into next dc, * make 1ch, miss 1dc, 1tr into each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc, make 1ch, miss 1dc, 1tr into each of last 2dc. Turn. (50, 2tr blocks)

4th Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr and 1ch space to end, 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn. (149dc) 

5th Row – 3ch, 1tr into each dc to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (148tr + 3ch)

Fasten off. # Join in colour 2.

6th Row – 1ch, work 1dc into base of 1ch, * 1dtr into next tr, pushing dtr onto the RS, work 1dc into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end working last dc into top of 3ch. Turn.

7th Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each st to end. Turn.

8th Row – 1ch, work 1dc into base of 1ch, * 1dtr into next dc, 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, working last dc into top of 3ch. Turn.

Fasten off. Join in colour 3.

9th Row – 3ch, 1tr into each st to end. Turn.

10th Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end. Turn. (149dc)

11th Row – 3ch, 1tr into next dc, * make 1ch, miss 1dc, 1tr into each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc, make 1ch, miss 1dc, 1tr into each of last 2dc. Turn.

12th Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr and 1ch space to end. Turn.

13th Row – 3ch, 1tr into each dc to end. Turn.

Fasten off. Join in colour 2.

14th to 16th Rows – Rpt 6th to 8th Rows. Fasten off.

17th to 21st Row – Join in colour 1 and rpt 9th to 13th Row. #

Rpt from # to # six more times until 117 rows have been worked from beginning. Do not turn at the end of row.

Fasten off. With RS facing, join in colour 2 to side of blanket.

Edging – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 162dc evenly into row ends down first side of blanket, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along starting chain edge, 3dc into corner, work 162dc evenly into row ends up second side of blanket, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each tr across, 1dc into base of 1ch, ss to first dc. Turn.

Second Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * 1dtr into next dc, pushing dtr on the RS, work 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * around four sides of blanket working (1dc, 1dtr, 1dc) into the corners, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Third Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc around blanket to end, working 3dc into corners. Turn.

Fourth Row – Rpt Second Row. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn.
