I have used a soft light worsted weight (DK) yarn in cream, blue, grey and pink shades.

Leaving last loop of each tr on hook, work 3tr into next tr, yrh, pull through all loops.

2tr Group.   2tr in the same stitch or space.

Base of ch. Work in first stitch

3ch counts as first tr

Approx Finished Measurement:  29.5 x 34.5 Inches

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

125 grams of King Cole Baby Comfort DK in colour 1
125 grams of King Cole Baby Comfort DK in colour 2
100 grams of King Cole Baby Comfort DK in colour 3
100 grams of King Cole Baby Comfort DK in colour 4

An equivalent yarn would be a light worsted #3

5.50mm & 4.50mm crochet hooks

TENSION – 2 pattern rpt’s & 2 rows measures approx 1 inch

UK INSTRUCTIONS:

Made in multiples of 2. To make the blanket larger use an aran (#4) yarn.

With 5.50mm hook and colour 1 make 111ch loosely, (RS) 2tr into 5th ch from hook, * miss 1ch, 2tr into next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch, miss 1ch, 1tr into last ch. Turn (53, 2tr groups, 1tr, + 3ch)

2nd Row – 3ch, miss 1tr, 2tr into space between next 2tr, * miss 2tr, 2tr into space between next 2tr, * rpt from * to * to last tr and tch, miss 1tr, work 1tr into top of tch. Turn.

Pattern Rows
Rpt 2nd Row until seven rows have been worked in all. Fasten off. Turn.

Join in colour 2.

8th Row – (WS) 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, * work tr3tog into next tr, 1dc into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn. (53 bobbles)

9th Row – 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr3tog and dc to end. Turn. (108dc)

10th Row – Rpt 8th Row. Fasten off. Turn.

Join in colour 3.

Rpt 2nd Row until seven rows have been worked in all. Fasten off. Turn.

Join in colour 2.

18th to 20th Rows – Rpt 8th to 10th Rows. Fasten off. Turn.

Join in colour 4.

Rpt 2nd Row until seven rows have been worked in all. Fasten off. Turn.

Join in colour 2.

Rpt 8th to 10th Rows. Fasten off. Turn.

Work Pattern Rows
Seven rows colour 1, three rows colour 2, seven rows colour 3, three rows colour 2, seven rows colour 4, three rows colour 2. Fasten off.

Join in colour 1 and rpt 2nd Row until seven rows have been worked in all. Fasten off. Turn.

You should have 67 rows worked in all from beginning.

Change to 4.50mm hook

Border – With RS facing, join colour 2 with a ss to top of last tr worked, working down first side of blanket into row ends, work * 2dc into each of next seven row ends, 1dc into each of next three row ends, * rpt from * to * to last seven row ends, work 2dc into each row end, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along starting chain edge, 3dc into corner, rpt from * to * to last seven row ends, work 2dc into each of the row ends, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each tr along top of blanket, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Second Row – (WS) Work 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, * tr3tog into next dc, 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * around blanket to end, working 3dc into each corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, work 1dc into each tr3tog and dc to end, working 3dc into the corners.

Making sure you line up your bobbles from the previous bobble row, rpt Second Row once. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn.
