dc.        Double Crochet

tr.         Treble Crochet
rpt.       Repeat
ss.        Slip Stitch
yrh.      Yarn Round Hook
tch.      Turning Chain

tr3tog. Leaving last loop of each tr on hook, work 3tr into same space, yrh and pull through all 4 loops.

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

3ch counts as first tr

Approx size:  9.5 x 9.5 Inches

Materials

For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

50 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft yarn

5.00mm Crochet Hook

TENSION – 2, tr3tog and 2 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Make 34ch loosely, work tr3tog (see abbrev) into 4th ch from hook, * make 1ch, miss 1ch, tr3tog into next ch, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (16, tr3tog)

Pattern Row – 3ch, * work tr3tog into next 1ch space, make 1ch, * rpt from * to * to 3tch, work tr3tog into top of 3ch. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row until 15 rows have been worked in all. Do not turn at the end of the 15th row.

Edge – Make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 29dc evenly into row ends down first side of cloth, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along starting chain edge, 3dc into corner, work 29dc evenly into row ends up second side of cloth, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each tr3tog and 1ch space to end, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1 more row of 1dc into each dc around all four sides of cloth, working 3dc into corners and ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn.
