A 5.00mm crochet hook has been used for the main part and a 4.00mm hook for the border using cicibebe baby and stylecraft special double knitting yarn for the crochet puff baby blanket pattern, USA crocheters can use any worsted weight #3.

Base of ch. Work into first stitch
3ch counts as first tr
Size to fit approx: 31.5 inches x 31.5 inches
Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-
300 grams of Cicibebe Baby DK yarn
5.00mm crochet hook for main part and 4.00mm for border

UK INSTRUCTIONS:
Made in Multiples of 5 + 4.
With 5.00mm hook make 114ch, (RS) work 1tr into 4th ch, * miss 1ch, work ps group (see abbrev) into next ch, miss 1ch, 1tr into each of the next 2ch, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (22 ps groups)
2nd Row – 3ch, 1tr into next tr, * miss 1ps, work ps group into next 1ch space, miss 1ps, work 1tr into each of the next 2tr, * rpt from * to * to end, working last tr into top of 3ch. Turn.
Rpt 2nd Row until you have worked 56 rows in all from beginning. Turn.
Change to 4.00mm hook.
Border – 1ch, work 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1dc into each of the tr, ps and 1ch space across, 3dc into corner, work 2dc into each row end down first side of blanket, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along starting chain edge, 3dc into corner, 2dc into each row end up second side of blanket, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc. Turn.
Second Row – Working 3tr into each of the corners, make 3ch, 1tr into the base of the 3ch, work 1tr into each tr around the blanket to end, 1tr into the base of the 3ch, ss to top of 3ch. DNT.
Third Row – Working 3tr into each of the corners, make 3ch, work 1tr into the base of the 3ch, * 1dtr around next tr, 1tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, 1tr into the base of the 3ch, ss to top of 3ch. DNT.
Fourth Row – Rpt last row working dtr around each dtr and tr into each tr. Turn.
Fifth Row – Working 5dc into each of the corners, make 1ch, work 2dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1dc into each stitch to end, 2dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, ss to first dc. Fasten off.
Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn.

Fourth Row – Rpt last row working trc around each trc and dc in each dc. Turn.
