Crochet Quick Doily

A crochet quick doily for you to make in just an hour or so, made with a combination of dc and sc with a pretty edge to finish.

Make them for your coffee and side tables or frame them to make a feature for your wall.

Abbreviations

Base of ch. Work in first stitch

ch3 counts as first dc

Finished size approx:  9.5 Inch Diameter

Materials
I have used:-
25 grams of Paintbox Simply DK

OR an equivalent yarn would be:-
1oz of Worsted Weight #3

5.00mm Clover Crochet Hook

GAUGE – 4dc & 2 rows measures approx 1 inch

Made in rounds without turning throughout.

Make magic circle, ch1, 12sc in circle, pull loose thread to close, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. (12sc)

Row 2 – ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 2dc in each sc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (23dc + ch3)

Row 3 – ch3, 2dc in base of ch3, * ch2, skip 2dc, 3dc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, ch2, skip 2dc, sl st to top of ch3 on the beginning of row. (8, 3dc groups)

Row 4 – ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 1dc in next dc, 2dc in next dc, * ch2, skip ch2, (2dc in next dc, 1dc in next dc, 2dc in next dc), * rpt from * to * last ch2 space, ch2, skip ch2, sl st to top of ch3 on the beginning of row.

Row 5 – ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 1dc in next 3dc, 2dc in next dc, * ch2, skip ch2, (2dc in next dc, 1dc in next 3dc, 2dc in next dc), * rpt from * to * last ch2 space, ch2, skip ch2, sl st to top of ch3 on the beginning of row.

Row 6 – ch3, * 1dc in each dc, 2dc in each ch2 space, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (71dc + ch3)

Row 7 – 5ch, skip 1dc, 1dc in next dc, * ch2, skip 1dc, 1dc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, ch2, skip dc, sl st to 3rd of 5ch on the beginning of row.

Row 8 – ch3, work 2dc in each of the ch2 spaces and 1dc in each dc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (107dc + ch3)

Row 9 – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ch4, skip 2dc, 1sc in next dc, * rpt from * to last 2dc, ch4, skip 2dc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. (36, ch4 spaces)

Row 10 – Work 5sc in each ch4 space to end, sl st to first sc on the beginning of row. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn.
