Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

35 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in Color 1
15 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in Color 2

An equivalent yarn would be a light worsted #3

5.00mm Clover Crochet Hook

GAUGE – 5dc & 3.5 rows measures approx 1 inch

Rose Tea Cosy

Front & Back (Top of Cosy) – Using color 1 ch28 loosely, 1dc in 3rd ch from hook, 1dc in each ch to end. Turn. (26dc + ch2)

Pattern Row 1 – ch2, * bpdc around next dc, 1dc in each of next 3dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc and ch2 to turn, bpdc around next dc, 1dc in top of ch2. Turn.

Pattern Row 2 – ch2, * fpdc around next dc, 1dc in each of next 3dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc and ch2 to turn, fpdc around next dc, 1dc in top of ch2. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 twice. Turn. (7 rows worked in all)

Fasten off.

Join color 2 to top of ch2 with a sl st, rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 three times. Turn. (13 rows worked in all)

Fasten off.

Join color 1 to top of ch2 with a sl st, rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 three more times followed by Pattern Row 1 once. (20 rows worked in all)

Fasten off.

Chain Tie – With color 2 ch81, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in each ch to end.

Fasten off.

Small Rose – With color 1 ch15, work 2hdc in 3rd ch from hook, skip 1ch, 3hdc in next ch, (twice), skip 1ch, 3dc in next ch, (three times), skip 1ch, sl st in last ch.

Fasten off.

Roll from hdc to dc’s to make the rose shape, secure at the back with loose ends of yarn.

Finishing – Placing RS together and leaving openings for the spout and handle, join front and back together by either over sewing or slip stitching. Weave in trim off all loose ends of yarn. Turn through to RS.

Starting from the front centre on the fourth row from top, thread chain tie through alternative dc’s around top of cosy and tie in a bow, attach rose.
