Abbreviations UK st. Stitch(es) ch. Chain dc. Double Crochet htr. Half Treble Crochet rpt. Repeat yrh. Yarn Round Hook BLO. Back Loop Only
Bean Stitch Insert the hook in next st and pull up a loop, (2 loops on hook ) yrh, insert into same st and pull up a loop, (4 loops on hook) yrh insert into same st and pull up a loop, (6 loops on hook) yrh and pull though all 6 loops, make 1ch.
Base of ch. Work into the first stitch
Approx Finished Size: 8 x 5.5 Inches
Materials For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:- 50 grams of Stylecraft Special DK yarn
4.50mm crochet hook
TENSION – 5dc & 5 rows measures approx 1 inch

Fingerless Mitts – Make two.
Cuff – Make 13ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (12dc)
Row 2 – Working into BLO (see abbrev) work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end. Turn.
Rpt Row 2 until you have worked 35 rows in all. DNT.
Body – 1ch, work 1dc into each row end along side of cuff to end. Turn. (35dc)
2nd Row – 1ch, 1htr into base of 1ch, * miss 1dc, BS (see abrev) into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, miss 1dc, 1htr into last dc. Turn. (16BS + 2htr)
Pattern Row – 1ch, 1htr into base of 1ch, * miss 1ch, work BS into next BS, rpt from * to * to last htr, work 1htr into htr. Turn.
Rpt Pattern Row until 10 rows have been worked in all from cuff. Fasten off.
Finishing – Fold your work in half and sew the open seam together leaving a space for your thumb (see pic)
