Puff Stitch Dishcloth

A soft cotton puff stitch dishcloth that some may think is too pretty to wash dishes with, so it can also be used as a washcloth the choice is yours.

* yrh, insert in stitch and pull up loop, *  rpt from * to * twice, yrh, pull through 6 loops, yrh, pull through 2 loops.

ps Group. (1ps, 1ch, 1ps)

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

3ch counts as first tr

Finished size approx: 10.5 Inches x 11 inches

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

60 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK

You can work the last two rows of the border in a contrast colour if you wish.

Made in multiples of 3 + 1

Make 37ch, work (1ps, 1ch, 1ps) into 5th ch from hook, * miss 2ch, (1ps, 1ch, 1ps) into next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch, miss 1ch, 1tr into last ch. Turn. (see abbrev for ps instructions) (11, 1ch spaces)

Row 2 – 3ch, (1ps, 1ch, 1ps) into each 1ch space to end, 1tr into top of 4ch. Turn.

Row 3 – 3ch, (1ps, 1ch, 1ps) into each 1ch space to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

Rpt Row 3 until 15 rows have been worked in all. Turn.

Border – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, miss 1ps, 1dc into each 1ch space and ps to last ps and 3ch to turn with, miss ps, 3dc into top of 3ch, work 31dc evenly into row ends down first side of cloth, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along starting ch edge to last ch and 3ch to turn with, miss 1ch, 3dc into base of the 3ch, work 31dc evenly into row ends up second side of cloth, 1dc into base of 1ch, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc around cloth to end, working 3dc into corners, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Next Row – 1ch, (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) into base of 1ch, * miss 2dc, (1dc, 3ch, 1dc) into next dc, * rpt from * to * around cloth to end, ss to first dc. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn.
