Scallop Stitch Crochet Tutorial – This Beautiful textured stitch can be used in many ways.

Scallop Stitch Crochet Tutorial

Abbreviations USA
ch.
    chain

sc.     Single Crochet
dc.    Double crochet
rpt.   Repeat
tch.   Turning Chain
yo.     Yarn Over

dc5tog. Leaving last loop of each dc on hook, work 1dc in each of next 5sc, yo and pull through all 6 loops.

dc3tog. Leaving last loop of each dc on hook, work 1dc in each of next 2sc, yo and pull through all 4 loops.

dc2tog. Leaving last loop of each dc on hook, work 1dc in each of next 2sc, yo and pull through all 3 loops.

Base of ch. Work in first stitch

ch2 counts as first dc

Make a chain length in multiples of 6 + 2

1st Row – 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn.

2nd Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ch2, work dc5tog (see abbrev) over next 5sc, ch2, 1sc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.

3rd Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * 2sc in ch2 space, 1sc in top of dc5tog, 2sc in ch2 space, 1sc in sc, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.

4th Row – ch2, work dc2tog (see abbrev) over next 2sc, ch2, 1sc in next sc, * ch2,  work dc5tog over next 5sc, ch2, 1sc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last 3sc, ch2, dc3tog (see abbrev) over last 3sc. Turn.

5th Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 2sc in ch2 space, 1sc in sc, 2sc in ch2 space, * 1sc in top of dc5tog, 2sc in ch2 space, 1sc in sc, 2sc in ch2 space, * rpt from * to * to last dc2tog and 2tch, work 1sc in top of ch2 Turn.

Rpt from 2nd to 5th Rows until required length, make in one color or you can change color on every even row.
