Size to fit approx: Newborn, 0-3 month, 3-6 month & 6-12 month baby

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

Small amounts of Stylecraft Special DK yarn in colour 1
Small amounts of James C Brett DK yarn in colour 2

Crochet Hook Sizes
For a:-
Newborn baby use a 3.50mm hook
0-3 month use a 4.00mm hook
3-6 month use a 4.50mm hook
6-12 month use a 5.00mm hook

UK INSTRUCTIONS:

Booties x 2 – Starting with sole and using colour 1 make 10ch, (RS) 2htr into 2nd ch from hook, 1htr into each of next 7ch, 6htr into last ch, working on opposite side of cast on ch, work 1htr into each of next 7ch, 2htr into last ch, ss to first htr on beginning of row. DNT. (24htr)

2nd Round – 1ch, 2htr into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 2htr into next htr, 1htr into each of next 7htr, 2htr into each of next 6htr, 1htr into each of next 7htr, 2htr into each of last 2htr, ss to first htr on beginning of row. DNT. (34htr)

3rd Round – 1ch, 2htr into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1htr into next htr, * 2htr into next htr, 1htr into next htr, * 1htr into each of next 7htr, rpt from * to * six times, 1htr into each of next 7htr, rpt from * to * twice, ss to first htr on beginning of row. DNT. (44htr)

4th Round – Working into BLO, (RS) make 1ch, 1htr into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1htr into each htr to end, ss to first htr on beginning of row. DNT. (44htr)

Work through both loops from now on.

5th Round (Instep) – 1ch, 1htr into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1htr into each of next 15htr, * work tr2tog (see abbrev) over next 2htr, 1htr into next htr * rpt from * to * 5 more times, 1htr into each of next 10htr, ss to first htr on beginning of row. DNT.

6th Round – 1ch, 1htr into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, work 1htr into the next 14htr, work tr2tog over next 2htr, (6  times in all), 1htr into each of next 11htr, ss to first htr on beginning of row. DNT.

7th Round – 1ch, 1htr into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, work 1htr into next 13htr, work tr2tog over next 2htr, (4 times in all), 1htr into each of next 10htr, ss to first htr on beginning of row. Turn. Fasten off.

Cuff – With colour 2 make 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of 1ch, 1dc into each stitch to end, ss first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (28dc)

Rpt last row four more times until 5 rows have been worked in all. Turn.

Sixth Round – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * 1dtr into next dc, 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, work 1dtr into dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Seventh Round – 3ch, 1tr into each stitch to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. Turn. (27tr + 3ch)

Eighth Round – Rpt Sixth Round once. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn, turn down top.
