Baby Socks

Easy baby socks crochet pattern, worked from the cuff downwards. Keep babies feet warm and cosy, they take very little yarn to make and can be crocheted in a short amount of time.

These adorable little socks can be added to complement any outfit or given at baby showers as a gift.

dec.   Pull up a loop from each of next 2dc, yo and draw through all loops.

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

To fit size approx:- 0-3 months baby
Sole Length 3.5 inches
Heel to Cuff 3.5 inches

Materials
Small amount of King Cole big value baby 4ply yarn in main colour
Small amount of King Cole big value baby 4ply yarn in contrast colour

3.50mm Clover Crochet Hook

TENSION – 5dc and 6 rows of dc measures approx 1 inch

Cuff – With contrast colour yarn, make 8ch, 1dc into second ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn. (7dc)

Next Row – Working into back loop of stitch only, work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end. Turn.

Rpt last row 22 more times until 24 rows have been worked in all.

Fold piece in half (bottom to top) so that the short sides of both ends are lined up, ss through both sides of work to make a ring. Fasten off.

Leg – Join in main colour yarn, working into row ends along side of ring, work 1ch, 1dc into each row end to end, ss to first dc on the beginning of row. Turn. (24dc)

Next Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Rpt last row eight more times, making 10 rows in all. Fasten off.

Heel – Join in contrast colour yarn, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 11dc, turn leaving remaining 12dc un-worked.

Next Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end. Turn. (12dc)

Rpt last row twice more, making four rows in all.

Next Row – (Dec Row) 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 3dc, dec (see abbrev) 1dc over next 2dc, (twice) 1dc into each of next 4dc. Turn. (10dc)

Next Row – (Dec Row) 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 3dc, dec 1dc over next 2dc, 1dc into each of next 4dc. Turn. (9dc)

With WS facing fold heel in half length ways and ss to together both sides of top (row just worked) to seal heel. Fasten off.

Next row – Join in main colour yarn to first row end (next to ss edge you have just created), 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, working into row ends along first side of heel, work 1dc into each of next five row ends, 1dc into each of next 12dc along foot, 1dc into each of next six row ends on second side of heel, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (24dc)

Next Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Rpt last row 10 more times, making 12 rows in all. Fasten off.

Join in contrast colour yarn and rpt last row twice.

Shape Toe – (Dec Row) 1ch, * dec 1dc over next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc. Turn. (12dc)

Rpt last row once. Fasten off leaving length of yarn. (6dc)

Finishing – Working on WS of work, thread length of yarn through last row to gather toe.

Weave in any loose ends of yarn and trim. Turn through to RS and fold down cuff.

I really like this baby sock pattern, but for some reason the directions are not working enough for me. Is there a way you could add some photos to give those of us that need it a visual please?
