Single Crochet Rib Stitch
Abbreviations
USA or UK
ch. Chain
st. Stitch(es)
sc/dc. Single Crochet (Double Crochet UK)
BLO. Back Loop Only
**********************************************
I used Paintbox Double Knitting yarn and a 5.50mm Clover crochet hook for the sample piece, just to be able to give it some flexibility.
Make an even number chain length + 1.
1st Row – 1sc/dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc/dc in each ch to end. Turn.
Pattern Row – Working in BLO (see abbrev) ch1, 1sc/dc in base of ch1, 1sc/dc in each st to end. Turn.
Rpt Pattern Row to desired length.
If using this stitch for a rib, after crocheting it you will then work in the row ends of one side of your made rib as per pattern instructions.
I have used this pattern for many of my baby items and projects, so hope you enjoy.
